Go soft: a clan of tricksters is known to prowl here in the gloaming lands of Shadow, and you are wary to attract their attention.

Oh, they're known not to hurt anyone in the course of their tricks. Their martial skills are reserved for nest-disturbers alone; they've never been sadistic or cruel.

But the games they play range from illusionary to elemental displays likely to engulf travelers' whole days in spectacle and drama. It's altogether too easy to get sucked into the Phosphorides' play, even if you have somewhere to be--by fascination and pure magic, many travelers have even gotten absorbed into the clan, yearning to be part of the fantastical world the Phosphorides create.

This is just how the Phosphorides operate. Behind the scenes, they are devoted to the Shadowbinder, without whose gloom their luminously creative world could not exist in such glory. And so, many outsiders are brought in, relationships cultivated and nurtured in order to send as many to Her service as possible, all in secrecy--save to comrades in the shadowflight.
