in a long-forgotten branch of the dripcave dregs,
there lies an unexpected pocket of heat—
a relief for weary travelers
seeking to warm their frozen bodies.
when approached, however,
the warm air reveals its source:
a tunnel carved into the ice,
deep enough that even the sharpest eyes
see only darkness.
the tunnel's winding path is lit
by ghostly wisps, drawing the eye
as it twists and turns,
further and further into the unknown.
there is a heavy cloud of magic in the air,
and most travelers find themselves
turned around and led right back
to where their journey began.
but, for those deemed worthy,
the lights lead all the way
to the glacier's hollow heart,
where a veil of bony crystals
unite in soundless, alien song:
welcome to turnback cave.
