Tunneling up from the ground, the jackalope found himself in a place he had never ventured before, so bright and dazzling he paused taking it all in. Tripping he looked down and saw a tatter scroll picking it up he carefully unrolled the parchment and realized it was not in a language he knew... yet, rolling it back up he tucked it away til he could find someone who could read it. Then set about to his exploration only to come across a dragon of all things, this illuminating scaled creature was fast and full of hope. The dragon referred to himself as Lumiere, and the jackalope introduced himself as Justinian Blanc, Esquire, fae scribe and collector of myths and legends and he was in awe because he had found such a legend.

Lumiere lived amongst the ruins of the Sundial Terrace often catching the grass moths for his collection. There was another dragon in the rounds of the columns who had watched them both for a while and she was a great tundra named Sucre. Sucrée was shy and simply watched the two, thinking she was not going to be noticed and she was quite fine with that. However Lumiere noticed the rather large Beetle beside her and pounced on it for his collection unbeknownst that it was her pet. There was a moment of silence and then she politely asked him to return her mountain beetle to her. Nodding softly he very politely did and then apologized to it and her. The beetle clanked its mandibles at him then wandered off once more.

Lumiere invited Sucrée to join him and Justinian and they made a small little place for the 3 of them in the wooded area near the back area of the sundial. Lumiere reasoned that with those that visited on the longest day of the year it would be out of the way and their little place wouldn't get trampled thru. Justinian showed them both the aged scroll and it was Sucrée who read it to him, he shivered as he voice vibrated soft and deeply from her large chest. The words seemed to hand in the air like a spell as she read them aloud.

"Light so bright fades into night, now we walk the path not yet taken, and now never forgotten.
Thru glowing dust and cracking earth, not lost, as we are that which has been brought in."

It was interesting but made no sense to either, and when Lumiere came to investigate Sucrée read it once more but it didn't make sense to Lumiere either, after that they settled into life and the reading of the scroll was soon forgotten, but the words had affected all 3 they just didn't know such as of yet. At first all was well and comfortable amoungst the trees and rocks of the fallen pillars and bounders on the terrace and below it and as they settled in exploring each noticed as bright as it was there was also such an emptiness the ruins wrought in the air.

Light found a way to illuminate but it was lonesome so Lumiere and Sucrée took the jackalope scribe away from the light bright spires of the Sundial Terrace. Lumiere saddened because that was the only home he had ever known but Sucrée lost no hope instead she followed her instincts as they transversed out of the light terrace of the Sunbeam Ruins into shadow taking to the edges of the Tangled woods. This seemed fine but Lumiere was a bright glow in comparison to the chocolate colored tundra, the jackalope seemingly inconspicuous due to his size between them.

Their presence was indeed noticed but left alone at first because they were skirting the waters edge and were making no effort to venture further into The Tangled Wood. Lumiere happily gathered jungle lilies just because he thought they were pretty, as they got to the edge of the driftwood drag the little glowing lights from the wisp willow grove beckoned to Sucrée one flying so close it got right into her right eye, doing her best to blink it out she said nothing and they all continued their trek further all following her lead. Finally they came out of the Wisp Willow grove thus leaving the shadow domains and entering a vastly different land of dry cracking rock from the lush land they had just traveled thru. The dryness of the earth domain was indeed a different feel under their feet and in the air.

They had not been in the barren lands long before they were set upon by a group of older nomadic cave dragons dust covered and very aggressive yet not out and out attacking them just circling the 3 and observing til one stepped forward who looked far more foreboding then the rest and she too was nothing like any of them had ever scene before but she was most certainly a dragon!
She insisted to know why a dragon of light was in the domain of earth, which cause Lumiere to look at her a bit confused and then looked her in the eye and said he was following his dragon companion he trusted who had lead him here.

Looking to Sucrée who by now was feeling odd and her eyes hurt. Inhaling softly as she was not one for crowds she blinked a few times then looked up at the unusual dragon and noted there was another similar to that one in the group surrounding them, but that one was not looking so well. both dragons seemed to do a stare off, and Lumiere was taken back because Sucrée's eyes glowed brightly like the other dragons, he could not fathom why her eyes also glowed as that had never happened as long as they had known each other.

Sucrée narrowed her glowing eyes not knowing they were doing such and the tundra stated "I brought them here to this domain, I followed what felt right, what of it? Would you really challenge 2 travel weary dragons and a jackalope in this dried out place and for what? The jungle lilies that the mirror dragon of light Lumiere has or the parchment scroll that our jackalope Justinian has? I think instead allow us to join your clan, allow us to prove ourselves you obviously need a healer, and what better then a light dragon who can heal to do such? As for myself and the 'lope, he can find unusual things like scrolls and I can speak the older draconian lost languages, I am sure these things I offer could come in handy."

The unusual dragon looked to the others with her then asked for a moment to discuss things. Both nodded the Sucrée stepped back to allow them that moment. Doing such the unusual dragon and two of her dragon companions one obviously a guardian the other very much like the unusual dragon spoke in whispers amongst themselves the other unusual dragon however looking worse and worse til suddenly he collapsed and all the dragons there rushed to his aide. He was carefully put over the back of the guardian who with Lumiere, 2 nocturne males and another male mirror got the unusual dragon back to where the Palissade caverns where located in the edges of the Greatwyrm's Breach.

Sucrée and the unusual dragon who introduced herself as Suriya explained they were seeking other dragons and were under a curse to which she didn't know if Asmoth the other unusual dragon and her would be free from as the curse had made him so very ill and her eyes glow as bright as the tundras. And inflicted them with a change so great they could not remember what they had been before such only that they were intensely and forever different.

Sucrée introduced herself as well, but stated her eyes didn't glow as they shook claws. Within moments of that ongoing claw shake a great change came over Sucrée and she shifted hard from tundra to skydancer then collapsed in front of Suriya who commanded the 2 female guardians and the female mirror to carry their newest guest to the caverns they called home. Leaning over her as she shifted her to the back of the closest she~guardian, she whispered "My apologies Sucrée, you seem like such a nice dragon, but sadly now you are cursed as well, I hope for all of our sakes this can be understood and broken."

Traveling back to the caverns dotted along the hill side Suriya led the last of the dragons, the second barely conscious "guest" into the lair. Once both had been settled she found Lumiere and Justinian and calmly spoke very flat in tone "Welcome to the Palissade caverns this is our home and now yours and your fellow dragons as well. It's very simple, help and guide others and earn your right to stay." with that she turned and left and set about preparing for the additional dragons now amongst them in the caverns.

Thus it was decided on the 15th day of leaves falling in the month of spice so was a place made for themselves in the dried and cavernous spance that is The Shattered Plain, the scroll was indeed powerful magic and would affect them for a long time to come.

A few days later another scroll was found by the jackalope scribe and it too was translated by Sucrée but it also made little sense.

"Light so bright fades into night, now we walk the path not yet taken.
Thru winding trees, past hill and dale, the glowing snow is faerie mistaken.
So come away thru the fae like crystalline trees and touch those wispy lights.
But If you go take heed, for you will n'er return unless twixt dusk and daylight."

A moons cycle passed and another dragon clan made their way to the Palissade lair because word had spread that this was a forever lair settled in the lands of Dragonhome.
Suriya set forth petitions to the Ancient Earthshaker during his sacred holiday for more space and he granted the Palissade lair a huge expanse but they would have to move into the Cairnestone Rest. It was a gift and Suriya understood this better then most and accepted the generous offer, then headed back to the Lair in the Shattered Plain and soon the entire lair was on the move. It only slightly dampened Sucrees mood because there had been so much to pack up but this would also place her closer to the ancient lairs she had been priorly exploring.

Lumiere had ensured Asmoth was well enough to travel, and had also taken it upon himself to guide the Eternalia coatle clan to the new lair and settled them in the much larger expanse. It was so different having to lairs under the same stone roof but this too was accepted with such grace and patience from both sides that soon the lair was widened and well furnished for both clans with an even larger nursery much to Magical's pure joy, even her herb garden tripled in size with some of the healthiest herbs, spices and teas, as well as fruits and vegetables. And for the earth dragons she made a point to grow peppermint, honey crisp apples, grassland grain, strawberries, plantain, figs, and Wasteland pears. For a rare few she grew the wilting rose. As usual she was truly proud of her garden and Lumiere constantly praised it.

Once the Coalt clan of 42 had settled in which took the passing of 6 moon cycles, It was once again discovered new space was needed. Once again Suriya petition the Ancient Earthshaker for lair space to accommodate up to 100 dragons, this took her by surprise that there was so many now. In almost a years time so many dragons had come forth she was fulfilling the prophecy invoked upon her by the curse. She finally accepted her self as she was now and when the Ancient Earthshaker saw such he now only granted the request but gave them passage to the cavernious cave city of the Ancient Lair itself that was carved into the Terracle. As there were other clans there to guide and help them settle in. soon in a flurry of activity came the anouncement of 4 more dragons arriving one of which was the long lost twin of Lamphros's father was amoungst the new arrivals. Word was sent to them both immediately and then came the announcement of a new clutch of eggs that would be hatching soon to Asmoth and Suriya, the head of the Palassade Clan decided to get the move done to the canvernious cave city then moved herself, the still recovering Asmoth and the current clutch of 3 eggs into a chamber and took a fortnight to just rest herself. In a few days time those eggs will hatch making the clan count to 99 dragons in total.

The Palissade clan had become a place for many a dragon visiting the Terraclae cave city, and soon it became clear to Suriya that they had enough space and Magical had insisted that other dragons be allowed to use the nesting areas because the earth flight had so much it could offer offspring born out of it. So it was decided by the elders that a portion of the space given them by the Earthshaker would indeed be set aside for visiting dragon pairs hoping to have a clutch or two born of the earth flight even if they were not of the earth flight. Many days of preparations and claw breaking work went into preparing such and Magical herself oversaw it all during that time however Suriyas and Asmoth's second clutch of 3 eggs hatched allowing for more of the ancient Veilspuns to grace the realm of Sornieth.

When all the preparations were complete Magical unveiled the secondary quarters of the Palissade's Menagerie but this one was truly for all those visiting in hopes their clutches would be blessed by the Earthshaker and the earth flight.
