Volcanic vents spew ash and fire upon the world, raining it down like leaves falling from trees in autumn.
In the background, hidden by the mighty stone walls of a courtyard and clouds of still-lingering black, lies a monumental castle. You shudder at the sight of it, its colors screaming fire, but the feeling you get isn't quite so warm...
The dark, soot marked walls are illuminated by light from the braziers upon them. The gate is open, like the maw of a hungry beast, and you know why it is open; for you.
Seen through the open jaws, lavishly embellished gold and red pillars reach skyward and arch above an impressive set of castle doors. Four long staircases of blackened stone connects the ethereal palace to the rest of the terraced city, one in each cardinal direction and all ending in a large gate at the bottom.
Its surrounded by other stone structures, getting larger as they approach the centerpiece of the kingdom. Flames of forges light up the city, and many a torch to follow those. The city is bustling, trade carts rolling in and out of your way on the streets. Banners and other ornamental strings hang high above your head as you pass beneath. While you gaze at these, you bump into the tail of a heavily armored banescale. The massive head whips back around to give you a grumble of warning before moving on.
As you head toward FireStruck Keep, and up the many stairs to reach it, you make a mental note to never accept a delivery job like this again.
