The Arcane Grove is a pleasant lair cared for by its leader Riannoc. The dragons of this lair take their names from an encyclopedia of sylvari - a creature from a tale known as 'Guild Wars 2'. The only exception is Treesus, whose name is based on 'Tree Jesus', an epithet for the sylvari 'Trahearne'.

There are some unnamed however. Those who trade treasure and gem to join with other lairs and then do not take names or are exalted there, and those whom, in the earlier days of the Grove's history, chose to be exalted without first leaving the lair.

Those of the Arcane Grove choose their names - they are not named by others (though those whom leave may adopt what customs they choose, and those whom enter the lair with old names choose a new new. Those whom join from another lair unnamed do not need to choose new ones, as they have not had one yet). As such, in the early days, those exalted chose names once they had left, and those names are beyond the knowledge of those whom remain.

Nowadays, those who choose to be exalted instead choose names of those dragons whom joined the fight after they themselves had chosen names. These names are passed amidst these dragons until the name is taken by a permanent resident once more. 'Meme' is the most popular.

A clan full of dragons named after sylvari (mostly for my amusement). Not serious business, 90% casual. My avatar will forever be plain old Riannoc with his wizard hat and rose.

My dragons are not always beautiful but I'm cool with that. At least they all have them denim jeans!
