Wᴇʟᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ Kɪɴ

The Kin is a clan in the farthest, most hidden corner of the Driftwood Drag. It is a matriarchal tribe, led by the strongest female within. The Kin, despite it's name, is mostly made up of dragons that were abandoned and adopted as hatchlings, hence why the Kin's elements are rather mixed despite their religious values.

Despite a caring and parental attitude to hatchlings, the Shadowbinder still lives on within The Kin. They are tricksters and tend to manipulate others for their gain, despite not laying a claw on others physically.

The Kin are mainly pacifists by nature, usually feasting only upon insects, however, they will fight if it is completely necessary. In the face of danger, caretakers will escape with hatchlings in the dark of night where the other ranks will stand their ground. Their fighting style is as brutal and savage as their own ambitions.

Rᴀɴᴋɪɴɢ

Mᴀᴛʀɪᴀʀᴄʜ

The matriarch is the leading female of The Kin. A new matriarch must have been mentored by the previous one. In cases where there are more than one apprentice of the former matriarch, the young females will go through countless trials until the next full moon where elders will judge and choose a new matriarch out of them.
It is noted that usually Nocturnes are chosen as apprentices to the matriarch as it is believed that Nocturnes are closer to the Shadowbiner. It is also noted that the matriarch will not have hatchlings of their own.
The current Matriarch is Rᴏᴀ.

Gᴜᴀʀᴅɪᴀɴ

Not to be confused with the type of dragon, a guardian is a chosen dragon picked by the matriarch to, not only protect her, but to help her make decisions regarding the Kin's well being. In more recent times, they act more as an adviser.
Typically wise dragons are chosen for this role.
The current guardian is Aᴇᴏʟᴜs.

Mᴇᴅɪᴄ

All clans must have a healer, and so does The Kin. The medic uses herbs to help the members of their clan, whether that be treating illness, treating wounds, or even helping with the hatching of hatchlings.
Occasionally physically disabled dragons will be chosen for this role (blind, deaf, etc.). Sometimes there might be more than one, depending on whether or not the Medic has an apprentice.
The current medic is Rᴇɪɴᴇ.

Hᴜɴᴛᴇʀs

The hunters are the dragons skilled for the hunt. They can also act as bounty hunters or just simply fight for The Kin if needed.
The current lead hunter is Tᴀᴍᴇᴋᴀ.

Sᴄᴏᴜᴛs

Scouts are typically small or thin dragons that will patrol the territory of The Kin. Upon sensing dangerous activity, they will report to the Lead Scout who will then report to the Matriarch to decide further actions.
The current lead scout is Mᴏᴄᴄᴀ.

Cᴀʀᴇᴛᴀᴋᴇʀs

Caretakers are typically female dragons who will take care of hatchlings and eggs. In the event where the camp of the Kin is raided, the caretakers will flee with the hatchlings in hand to protect them in the Elsewhere until the coast is clear. There is usually no more than three Caretakers at a time.
