Marcus dusted his claws against the soft grasses of the Zephyr Steppes. "You're absolutely certain they won't be bothered here. Its extremely important to my research?" He asked casually to his companion. Malik sighed and rubbed his soft face with the pads of his his fore claws. "For the millionth time Marcus they couldn't possibly be more secluded than here, why you can't just make a warren in the caves like the rest I don't fully understand..." He trailed off his normally silent companion had started making the oddest rumbling, humming sound deep inside his chest.

The strange song sounded like it lasted for hours, then trailed off. Not long after the air became filled with the humming of tiny wings. Hundreds, then thousands came from all directions, each heralding the arrival of the oddest little dragons Malik had ever seen. Not in any of his travels had he uncovered such creatures.

"They're...they're bees!" He exclaimed!
"Shh, shhh, not so loud you'll startle my friends." "There, there, don't be shy my friends, come come." He waved them forward, there were so few males, and so few of them, but he could tell they were all from different species.

"Just what are you planning here Marcus?"

"I'm going to save them. More than that, i'm going to work with them to make honey that preserves the memories I record, or try to for the fun of it anyway, but mostly to save them." He went further as he and his companions slowly set to pace making introductions to the strange little creatures.

"They have a long and robust history, but sadly their society was fractured by 'wasps' and now they're scattered, their hives, weak and small. I wanted so much to offer more to them, to protect them..." He trailed off again, His eyes clouded by the future....
