The Verdant Wardens

In the shade of a large, dark-barked tree sits a low depression in the earth. Surrounding its edges are flowering bushes with tough stems and thorny branches, creating a natural protective wall. The well-hidden entrance is watched by a tiny pair of eyes from a camoflaged warden. Strangers are not immediately turned away, but the lair is a haven that is not easily entered without permission. Those allowed entry to the clan's lair find a cosy space for the clan to gather, complete with hanging lights and decorations of pretty shells and sparkly stones and loose feathers. In the center of the hollow is a deep well, covered with a tough, gauzy material. Beneath a large overhanging bush is a narrow tunnel that leads to a nesting chamber filled with soft feathers and warm furs. Dug into the sides of the depression are further tunnels that lead to individual dens, each one individualised to its inhabitant.
