Winds carry you, friend! Welcome to the isle of Steppes' Ascent. We are the home of the Temple of Steppes, recently having celebrated the 400th anniversary of its inception. The Temple lies at the lofty peak of our humble island spire, overlooking shimmering seas and, far in the distance, the meeting of the Southern Icefield and Starfall Isles. The Temple is primarily accessed by sea, as the island lies a day's flight away from the mainland: too treacherous for all but the most tenacious of fliers to attempt. True to its name, flightless visitors must surmount the thousand steps to the summit, chiseled from the Ascent’s very stone. For those faint of heart (or breath), the clan airship, the Sweetgrass, also makes a stop at the town adjoining the temple grounds. Though whether the next will be scheduled days, weeks, or even months in the future is hard to know!

The town of Summit’s Peak is a bustling, vibrant community, home to a variety of artisans, entertainers, priests, and more. The Matriarch, Drifa, heads the town, while the Temple is directed by Mistral. Though the Temple’s main cause is to facilitate and foster the worship of the Windsinger, its prime location has also attracted a host of scientists, scholars, and healers, all keen to study and tame the essence of wind. The nearby Jadefont Monastery and accompanying Guard are tasked with protecting our idyllic vista, ensuring that no threats come from without, or within.
