The Scarred Wasteland was a harsh home, no place for the weak of mind or body. That was what Xzarra, clan-mother, always told her followers. It was what she'd told them when she sold away the children that didn't match her expectations. It was what she told them when she suddenly turned on many of the established members and chased them out. Such was the way of things; a clan grows too large, too complacent, and the fat must be cut away. Those that remain eye their leader warily. It's only a matter of time, they suspect, before they too become "weak" in Xzarra's eyes...
