They'd forgotten what they were, with how long they spent on Sornieth: remnants of their former selves manifested as longing for the cold, dark places, where the sky touches the earth and the firmament gleams above like an endless sea, and a subtle yet unsettling feeling that they did not belong here. Some of them ignored it, while some strived to change. There were others, however, who focused their attention on it, to see if it would bring them somewhere. It would, eventually, and they would be later rewarded for their patience and curiosity. But not yet.
