Huh? What's that you ask?

Lore? You want LORE???

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHH!This ain't no disco, pal (and it ain't no party either, but I ain't got time for specifics now)! This IS the Lair of Insanity, after all! So you won't shut up, huh? Fine, here's the basics:

It all started when this crazy mad-scientist dude named Leilana (it was an unfortunate naming mistake) decided that the only way to carry out his twisted experiments on dragonkind was to start a cult. So he formed a 'religion', Arcanica, and used it to rope hundreds of innocents into his schemes. Then, he started trying all these experiments on "his" dragons, which lead them all to go nuts because that's what lab rats do, according to every superhero movie ever. As his power and bank account expanded, Leilana grew crueler, forcing random pairs into "breeding tests" against their will and exiling anyone who disobeyed him. It seemed there was nothing that could end his reign.

But sometimes, salvation comes in the most unexpected of forms. In this case, said form was in the cuddly, gentle shape of Freido, Leilana's bride through an arranged marriage. At first she'd aided in his experiments, partially out of fear and partially because she had nothing else to believe in. But as time passed, she began to sympathize with those that were exiled, and a deep anger at her husband began to grow. When he "exalted" their only son Skimpy, that was the last straw. With the aid of her best friend (maybe lover? I don't keep track) Twisty, she lead a massive rebellion against the corrupt Leilana. She soon won, and exiled the vicious little fae to the Plague wastelands.

Now, having escaped her bonds, Freido has proved to be a just and caring leader. The former prejudices against Wildclaws and Ridgebacks have been removed, and soon Bogsneaks and Snappers will arrive as well. The survivors of Arcanica are still trying to adjust to normal life, which they attempt to do by talking to the various new residents drawn to the clan's peaceful demeanor. So come on, stop by sometime!

...Man, that got pretty dark, didn't it? Well, whatever. Just don't think too hard about it.
