AlulaVortex's Clan

The alula feathers are a collection of feathers on a bird's wrist that appear almost thumb-like. During flight the alula generates a small vortex of air. The interaction of these small feathers with the formed vortex are what give birds in flight their grace and finesse. A bird can fly without alula feathers, but the resulting flight would lack some of its effortless beauty.
