Deep in the Starwood Strand, a sacred spring brews up to the surface through a leyline. The grove of sequoias hosts a growing dragon lair lead by a young fae druidess.

After the Fae lair she was born into collapsed the oldest tree of their forest, Menka struck out on her own to find a more sustainable way of doing things. She met Tep and Witchesbrew along the way, a couple with children and without a lair. They became friends immediately and traveled together. One day, they found the ruins of an abandoned lair centered around a dried-up magical spring. After taking shelter in the ruins and working with the spring, she discovered the spring had closed to protect itself from abuse and overuse by the dwellers of the abandoned lair. She began working to recover the spring, deciding it was time to settle down and start a lair of her own.

During this time, 3 Lightening Clan refugees escaping a plague that befell their home came across Menka's spring. Makenna, Stormsinger, and Starstone were welcomed into lair. She fell in love with Makenna soon after and began making amber jewelry for her love. Stormsinger, an accomplished magician, helped her with the recovery of the spring. And Starstone, a fierce warrior, helped Tep to protect the lair from wandering beastmen.

One day, they were attacked by a larger group of dragons who wanted the now barely working magic spring. Driven from their new home, Makenna, Stormsinger, and Starstone appealed to Regina, the leader of their former lair, for help. Regina agreed and allowed Rhazerial, Striker, and Siobhan to help the band take back their home.

From here, Menka’s lair grew into a thriving and stable home.
