The Stronghold

In a mossy glade far below in what hardly looks to be Wind Flight territory, live a united force of dragons. The murmuring winds cycle musically through the many tunnels carved into the rock-face. A haunting song of channelling air surrounds the many cliffs and valleys of this massive and partially-subterranean stronghold, deterring many from arrival.

Atop the rugged ascent of the cliffsides, one can often see a dragon ground themselves, open their wings, and push against the rushing gale that sweeps over the ancient stony crags. Here, warriors and families survive. The narrow valleys and crevasses that soar up past the very clouds are covered in bamboo jungles and ever-changing channels of limestone, weathered by hundreds of years of dragon activity and the elements. The root-torn clifface towers upwards in a natural barricade against the world.

Yet deep in its heart, beneath the idyllic and verdant first impression of this lair lies a dark secret. Many years ago a great evil was unearthed beneath the cliffs, charming and changing its residents with its siren song. The residents of the Stronghold are unaware of the abominations that seed their ranks, orchestrated by the necromatic fervor of one the lair trusts the most: The Co-Founder Jadewing.

What did she uncover, deep in those caverns below The Stronghold? The subtle changes have been too slow and insidious to notice, but now, everything is unmistakably… different.
