Dark trees give way to a glimmering coast. You furtively approach, sinking into crystal waves and allowing the cool waters to embalm your parched scales. In the corner of your eye, a cave catches your attention: the entrance sporting a garnish of ice--unusual, to say the least.
You decide to swim into this cave, finding it far more extensive than you first assumed. In time, you find the residents, and a fae approaches you--clearly, the leader amongst them, his body wreathed in regalia. Monotonously, he clears his throat and speaks.
"Though I suppose your trip was not by choice, I welcome you to the clade of Anathýmisi--a place of contradiction, where change stagnates, where life blooms and withers, where we bear the forgotten memories that others have lost.
Please, feel free to stay as long as you like in our midst.
Just make sure you don't commit any egregious crimes, alright?
If that happens, we'll have to lock you in
with the pestilences until the end of time."
You can't tell if he's joking, but it's probably best if you don't test your luck.
