The Grove is always Shadow, no matter where else it might be, no matter where the doors to the outside world lead. While the clan may have been living here for the last century or so, the magic holding the 'mini-realm' together and separating it from the rest of Sornieth is much older, older than any dragon, perhaps older than the gods themselves. Not that anyone here puts much stock in the gods, dragon or otherwise. It is, difficult, to believe in the absoluteness of any power born from this world when so many have come from outside it. Those who live here name themselves a dragon clan, yes, but few are truly dragons in any way that matters, at least anymore. True, some did begin as nothing more than flesh, but something about this place, it does not allow such things to remain for long. Visitors and merchants must beware not to linger too long, lest something reach out to touch their spirit and change them as it has so many before.

The settlement itself rests high in the boughs of the Greattrees, strung with fey-lights and hanging plants. Silver wood is carved intricately, though never painted, and each of the pines is interconnected with its siblings by a web of walkways high above the ground. In the highest reaches, overlooked only by the stars of an eternal night, the platform where the Council debates sits open to the sky. Beautiful as it is, reaching it is a feat beyond most mortals. The way into the Grove is difficult to find, often no more than a shimmer in the air betrays there is anything there at all. And even if one can find the door, opening it is no small task, then finding the Grove within may prove impossible to anyone who does not already know the way. Many become lost in the unending dark which has neither beginning nor end, and those few who return are not themselves. Away from the warding lights of the clan lurks an evil forgotten by time itself.

I write a lot of lore, and a lot of my dragons have had their lore redone a few times, so give me a little slack about continuity issues, I'll get there eventually. Also as implied in my lore intro above, a lot of my dragons have spooky eldritch lore, so you've been warned.

I disregard a lot of site-lore. A lot of it is contradictory or doesn't make much sense. Like mirrors not being particularly good at flying when mechanically speaking they're one of the best-built breeds for flying. So if you see something that doesn't match site-lore, it was intentional.

Feel free to ask questions if you're interested and something's unclear! I promise I don't bite (usually).

As much as I'd like to be able to, I cannot draw to save my life. :(

I've been in Shadow Flight ever since I joined, never changed it. Though I have been considering a vacation to Plague.
