Welcome to the Clan of Fading Echoes

“As you walk into our realm, you may find yourself shaking with fear and feeling blind in the darkness. But do not be afraid, we are not the cruel beasts that everyone says we are.”

THE GREAT BOOK OF LORE

Territory:
On the edge of the Shadowbidner’s land, there’s a river that splits into two like a T. At the top of this T is the Echoes main clearing. It's very large, and is home to the special ranks of the clan. The rest of the dragons nest wherever they want within camp- the land surrounding the river. There are several clearings bordered by pines on each side of the river, and some more when the river splits. (The outside of the pine trees is considered outside of camp, and there are distinct entrances over the river, but the rest of camp is enclosed by pines. The Echo's territory is a forest with lush pine trees- and ones that glow like stars,- as well as plentiful undergrowth. It is one of the only parts of the Shadow territory that sees the light of day, since it is so close to the Light realm. A cliff that looms off the Sea of a Thousand currents is also in the territory. Most dragons nest with their friends/family in treetops, bramble dens, or clear out a hole in the denser parts of camp.
Clan Ranks:

Hatchling- Hatchlings are any dragons younger than 6 months. They remain in the nursery, which is covered by pine branches above, and brambles on the sides.

Trainee- Trainees are young dragons that have left the nursery, and are training in a rank. They are allowed to choose their rank, and receive a trainer of that rank to teach them.
Adult Ranks

Guard- Guards are usually the largest, strongest dragons in the clan. They are ready for action at a moment's notice, whether it be a large predator or an enemy clan.

Hunter- Hunters usually are fast, lithe dragons who catch the clan's prey. The hunter category is split into three sections, air, water, and land hunters.

Scout- Scouts keep the Fading Echoes in contact with the rest of the world. Wether they're sending a message to a faraway clan, or spying on an enemy, the scouts collect information. They also need to have good endurance for all of their travels.

Gatherer- Gatherers forage for plants and any other items that go into the hoard. Not many dragons choose this path of life.
Special Ranks

Keeper- The keeper watches over the clan's items. They organize the hoard.. They also watch over the treasure. They may take on a trainee who will succeed them, and work alongside them.

Merchant- A merchant's job is fairly simple. They sell items to the clan, and any visitors. They also can buy things from others at their station, in the main clearing. A small percentage of their treasure goes to the clan's hoard. They may take on a trainee who will succeed them, and work alongside them.

Healer- The healer of the clan helps treat their sick or injured clanmates. They use both magic and natural remedies (herbs, poultices, ect.) They may take on a trainee who will succeed them, and work alongside them.

Prophet- The prophet helps connect the Fading Echoes with the Heavens (see RELIGION section). They receive prophecies and omens, and sometimes dreams. They may take on a trainee who will succeed them.

Leader- The leader of the Echoes keeps the clan in order. They guide and ultimately control the way of life for each dragon. Their word is law, only trumped by the Shadowbinder. They need to be responsible and levelheaded. The deputy will succeed them.

Deputy- Second-in-command, the deputy serves under the leader. Even when the leader appoints them, they will still carry out the duties of their rank. Only hunters, guards and scouts can become leaders. They will succeed the leader.
Relations:
Due to their location, the Fading Echoes create relations with both Light and Water clans. They shun the shady behavior of some Shadow cans, but they remain loyal to the Shadowbinder, and their flight.

Religion/Traditions:

The Fading Echoes were founded by Ravyn and Ember, who are now happily living as elders. However, the Echoes believe in a higher power, the Heavens.
Heavens

The Heavens is believed to be the place where all moral dragons go when they die. The Heavens look over the dragon clans, and the prophet must watch for signs from them. The living are thought to have the power to shape their own destiny, but they are guided by the Heavens. Unmoral dragons's souls are lost.

Traditions/Celebrations

Aside from the regular FR holidays, the Echoes like to celebrate the season changes. They believe that the Heavens are guiding them in the right direction, everything is on time.

Additional Subjects

Exalting- Dragons may choose to leave the clan and serve the Shadowbinder. These dragons are usually in seek of adventure

Treasure- The clan receives a sum of money from the Shadowbinder. Each month, every working dragons is given a small sum of this treasure. However, many dragons also choose to earn money on their own. The clan is very wealthy, because they get paid very generously.

Familiars- It is believed that every dragon has an animal that they are spiritually connected to. When a dragon encounters their familiar, there is a special connection. No dragon is allowed to hurt a familiar, and they all live in their own clearing.

Please note, all of my dragon's backstories are
completely for roleplay purposes only. Any "backstories" do not refer to the dragon's actual birth clan in any way.

Also, I have siblings sharing my IP.
