I like to create elaborate backstories for my dragons that make no sense to anyone but me.
Although I can usually be found curled up in blankets reading, I also enjoy long walks on the beach and avoiding eye contact with the crazies on the bus.

I think I've put waaaaay too much into this but whatever.
In my weird fictional universe there are two countries. One is Nithran, the fertile and green country that runs along the Western Coast. It is filled with lush valleys and sweet grass and flowers and all manner of little animals. Nithran is run by the Silver Council (it is silver because that is one of two colors of the flag, the other is gold) and representatives are elected for life. There is an Emperor but he is more like a figure head and defers to the Council on most decisions. He resides in the Golden Palace situated in the exact middle of the country. The economy is run by the Guild Masters, and their crafts range from welding to basket weaving. The clothes are all mostly light colors with swirling flowery patterns. Since Nithran is on the coast, it trades with many different countries and has therefore created a very accepting and diverse culture. The navy is very advanced but pirates are a big problem. The inhabitants are friendly and usually know at least two foreign languages.

Cauldor, on the other hand, is surrounded by mountains on all sides and is cut off from any other country. It is in a rather large, bowl shaped valley created millions of years ago when a meteor struck the planet. There were trace amounts of radiation in the meteor and this caused many of the animals and plants to mutate strangely. Large snow capped mountains surround the country on every side except for the western border, which just has slightly larger than usual mountains. This allows travelers to cross into Nithran but it is still very dangerous and doesn't happen very often. There is a secret city filled with thieves and murderers there. Cauldor is ruled by the Queen, who rules the country from Thorn Castle on the large island in the middle of the giant Red Lake. She discusses every important decision with the Conclave of Elders but ultimately she has the most power. Due to their isolation, the inhabitants of Cauldor are weary of strangers and have developed a unique culture. Their language is one of the most difficult to learn and many of the Cauldorans are reluctant to teach it to others. They prefer to learn foreign languages. The clothes are generally dark and have solid patterns with animals or trees.

The queen wished to open up trade between Cauldor and Nithran, but through a series of cultural misunderstandings war broke out between the two countries.
A little side note: the misunderstandings were exploited and twisted by the queen's manipulative uncle and a member of the Silver Council. They wanted war between their two countries so they could take power for themselves and get a lot of that cash money aaayyyy.

And by the way, if you've made it this far, I'm impressed. I hope you enjoyed my stupid ramblings.

I bought Neptune from you (I think) and I just wanted to say his bio made me laugh really hard. Tomato is a horrible color.
