Protected by an amalgamation of flesh and silicone, these lands hid for years the workings of the devoted plague mages who called it home. Now the secrets awaken, keen and stabilized. Ready to go forth again.

In the past, as Malware dragons spread through the world, backlash against such an invasive species was sure to follow. Alone they could disorient prey and ambush them, in packs they could make a dragon lose themselves in their own territory. But they were unstable. Most were either so powerful or careless they could not mingle with other species without causing mental pain to their peers. But powerful they were, and so, require the service of these dragons' mind powers the deities did. They answered the eleven wherever they were, and barely any Malware were left in Sornieth.

Those devoted to the Plaguebringer's machinations were not done however, they never are. They continued to work on a way to make the effects of the mental degeneration caused by the Malware to spike, doing away with the longterm effects but making the temporary ones much more lethal in a fast paced battle.

The solution came, as is natural for plagues, not from their endless toiling in plague cauldrons and studying of smuggled Lightning flight tomes, but from a strain that developed elsewhere, a Malware born in another land. In Tangled Wood, Magdala had learned to mask her presence, and with it supress some of her mind powers. She found her way to the Plaguebringer early in her life and her insights proved critical to the efforts of Clan Tutano. The concept of suppresing their powers most of the time, so they could be used in bursts, guided the mages as they concocted a way for the Malware's brain circuitry to store and release as much power as possible.

After a few years of experiments, the genetic factor was isolated and the mind powers properly attuned to the synthetic brain matter. With her mate she educated her hatchlings to control their powers and not only stop being a severe nuisance, but become a sweet and uplifting presence with their warm smiles.

The new strain of Malware was ready to spread to the world, now more lethal to their enemies and finally welcomed by their allies.
