Broberon's Clan

Goretrix the Crimson was the only student of Broberon the Mad who instilled in the young drake a love for knowledge. After his mentor's death Goretrix traveled far with only his master's lessons as company. He finally came to an isolated stretch of the Shattered Plains to grieve. Then one day a female came to impede upon his solitude. When asked by his future mate what he decided to guard in this wasteland after his Search he tersely answered "My sanity." before returning to his research. However, Entyrn was not so easily put off. She continued to linger at his lair and ask him every day before finally he relented and gestured to his scrolls, "I guard knowledge so it is not forgotten." She nodded and in secret sent missives to other dragons she had encountered during her Search telling them of the great teacher Goretrix. Some were eager to pass on their troublesome hatchlings while others wished to see their hatchlings learn things they themselves did not know.
"What are they doing here?" Goretrix grumbled when the Hatchlings started to arrive.
"Helping you. If you wish to see knowledge is guarded and never forgotten, it should be taught to the Hatchlings who will teach their Hatchlings in turn." Entyrn said with an amused grin.
"I hope you don't plan on leaving after having a hand in this disaster." Goretrix grumbled and glared over his spectacles as his peace and quiet was irrevocably destroyed.
"I'm not, seeing I've decided to Guard something just as important as Knowledge here." She said with a shrug.
"And what, pray tell is that?" He asked haughtily.
"The future." Entyrn said as she looked meaningfully at the first batch of hatchlings.
Goretrix, at a loss for words started to fall in love with her that day and named his clan after his beloved albeit infinitely frustrating mentor.
