βασιλεία Clan

The βασιλεία (pronounced: vasileía) Clan is a cluster of long-standing dragon families that lives near the edge of the Mirrorlight Promenade. This particular clan isn’t known for its destitution. Unlike many of the smaller clans who share their meager hoards amongst themselves, each βασιλεία family sits on its own large pile of treasure. The family heads form an uncertain leadership, the hierarchy determined by the amount of treasure each family guards.

Being a religious clan, each family worships the deity of their founding head. Worship is conducted by the blessed prophets, one for each deity. When a dragon has fulfilled their lifetime, they are exalted to their beloved deity, the highest honor a βασιλεία member can have. During the festivities the old head bestows their treasure and belongings with their new chosen head of the family. After a dragon has been exalted, it is placed in each family’s pedigree, the family’s most valued treasure. Only those dragons who have brought shame, misfortune, or bad blood to the family are given the dishonor of no pedigree entry.
