The First Generation
Buy a pair of dragons of different breeds with a four-colour tertiary range
Number the tertiary colours 1-4 from one parent to the other
stick 'em on a nest and hatch it
If there is at least one hatchling with colour 2 it/one of them can be heir - score the nest and proceed to the next generation
If no hatchling has tert 2 but at least one has tert 3 re-breed the parents to try again for this generation
If all hatchlings have terts 1 and 4 this round is over. Score the nest -this is your final score.
Scoring
Nest score is 5 minus the number of eggs, plus 2 for every hatchling of the same breed, gender and tertiary colour as either of the parents (ie you get more points if you manage to continue past a difficult nest)
Subsequent Generations
Buy a mate of a different breed to give a four-colour range with the tert-2, numbering the new tertiary range 1-4
build and hatch a nest
If there is at least one hatchling with colour 2 it/one of them can be heir - score the nest (adding the score at the previous generation) and proceed to the next generation
If no hatchling has tert 2 but at least one has tert 3 re-breed the parents to try again for this generation
If all hatchlings have terts 1 and 4 this round is over. Score the nest and add previous generations' score - this is your final score. Feel free to start from the beginning again!
Changes
Easy Mode - 5 colour range, 1 and 5 are round-over, 2 and 4 are proceed, 3 is repeat generation
Hard Mode - 5 colour range, 1, 3 and 5 are round-over, 2 is proceed, 4 is repeat generation
Repetitive Mode - tert 2 means the nest's score is added to the running total, but the parents are bred again rather than creating a new generation
Railroad Mode - tert 3 means the nest score isn't added to the running total, but a new generation is created using the tert-3 as heir
Gamble Mode - all pairings must have a Plentiful breed and a Rare or Limited breed - one Rare or Limited offspring allows you to proceed regardless of terts, more than one Rare or Limited offspring ends the round and nullifies your score for the round
