What lurks in the everdark?

LORE The Lanternlighters began as a small expedition into the Hewn City, an attempt to dig up and understand even a small portion of the mysteries within its haunted borders. They never left. Trapped within the everdark, they have only their lanterns for light and what little they can scavenge to survive on -- and something hungry lurks on the edges of their lights, seeking to consume them if the lanterns ever go out. These dragons never meant to work together for longer than a single expedition, and they only continue to discover ways they conflict. But survival demands they work together: without unity, the everdark will claim them all. |
BEACON TOWN
The single stronghold of the guild against the ever-encroaching darkness, Beacon Town is brightly lit. It is safe enough that outsiders can visit, from time to time: messengers and supply runs, mostly. But, for some unknown reason, if a dragon spends a single night in Beacon Town, they will be trapped like the rest of the Lanternlighters were. |
THE EVERDARK
The area beyond the borders of Beacon Town is dark and foreboding. So long as a dragon takes a light with them when they leave, it is mostly safe -- but lantern fuel drains faster here, and if the lantern goes out entirely, the unfortunate dragon left in the Everdark will be consumed by it -- or whatever lives in it. |
FACTIONS
THE SENTINELS
The Lanternlighters are far from a unified whole -- many of them barely tolerate one another, and in their circumstances a lack of unity may well be the thing that ends them all. The Sentinels, headed by Gabriel and Caledon, seek to solve this problem: together, they say, is the only way to face this danger. They are struggling to hold together an increasingly unstable group.

A handful of the Lanternlighters believe that the secret to their escape must lie within the ruins of the Hewn City, out in the Everdark. They are brave dragons -- some would say foolish-- running the risk of death with every expedition. But there must be answers out in the dark: something made this darkness, something which might be able to be reasoned with.
Or killed.

Of all the factions within the guild, the Sunlighters are the most distant. This group consists of those dragons who don't care any longer about the mysteries of the Hewn City or their missing compatriots: they only want to escape, by any means necessary. They want to see the sun again.
The Sunlighters are intently studying the curse that keeps them trapped in the Everdark, and they also make dangerous pushes toward daylight: burning resources and making life more difficult for their guildmates in the process.

Yup! I've been having fun with it, though I've stalled on bios recently. I need to get them all written up, so I can increase the size of my clan, which will then led to the next part of my lore. Augh! I have so much more work to do. :') RIP me
Well my lore started out as a fandragon clan, which then changed into a clan of misfits, but just recently I overhauled that into the prison lair that it's being written as right now
Taking classes, completely uprooting and rewriting my clan lore, planning out a novel, you know the usual XD
