The best way to avoid exalting lairs is to sell via the forums, that way you know who is buying.
The other way is to sell a lot higher. Exalters want cheap dragons, so check the Auction House and price your dragons a fair bit higher than the lowest. And always double check, because sometimes there's a dominance battle going on that will raise the prices.
They will sell a lot slower or not at all, but like that you know the buyers are people who liked the dragon, not the profits.
