Why so many babies?

When Roseel and Omen were young and naive, they birthed their first clutch of eggs. They were quite overjoyed when their beautiful creations hatched.

However, with inexperience comes ignorance.

One night, Roseel and Omen left the nest unattended for an hour or so to hunt and stretch their wings--parenthood was hard, and their hatchlings were always hungry.

They returned home with quite the selection of insects, only to notice the nest was eerily empty. In the distance, a dragon could be seen--it had snatched the hatchlings out of the nest.

Before the young parents could rescue their kin, they were exalted to serve under The Arcanist.

Now, whenever a particularly beautiful dragon becomes part of the Clan, they're given a life of luxury and pampering, serving as the children lost, now centuries ago.
