Blazewind's Clan

Welcome to the Clan of the Blazing Breeze!

Merlin and Freya were nomads for as long as they could remember. But at some point, they started to yearn for more, for a place of their own, a place where they could start a family and where they could listen to the everchanging wind in peace.

One fateful night Windsinger himself appeared to Merlin in a dream and told the pair it was time to return to their birthplace where they could start their clan to further Windsinger's goals.

After Merlin awoke, slick with sweat and recounted his dream to Freya, they both immediately started the long journey back to The Windswept Plateau. It was an ardeous trip and the small clan-to-be encountered many hinderances and had many
adventures. But, after weeks of traveling, they finally reached their goal, the welcoming cliffs of the Reedcleft Ascent.

There, at the very edge of Windsinger's territory, where the Plateau is separated from the Arcanist's territory, lay The Farthest Pillar. On that pillar they made their home and started building the foundations of the Clan of the Breeze.

Even as the clan grew bigger, Merlin continued to have visions from Windsinger. Freya, recognizing Merlin as her Charge and realizing that his visions would endanger him as well as the entire clan, she gathered a group of dragons whose purpose was to guard him and the clan. They called themselves The Foehn Guard. As time passed, Merlin's visions foretold about dragons from other clans and other territories in need of rescue, and the Guard's purpose naturally expanded to fulfilling the need passed down through Merlin's visions. By order of Freya, the Guard sent out squads of no fewer than 3 dragons in response to these quests. These squads soon became elite teams, able to work together seamlessly to handle almost any problem thrown their way. The first members of such a Quest Squad were Merlin, Freya and a hatchling from their first clutch, Arthur.

In their nomadic voyages, Merlin and Freya made numerous friends. Two of them, Ginny and Ron, whose home was The Ashfall Waste, promised they would visit the pair in their new clan. Merlin and Freya were excited to see their old friends, and the two fire born dragons helped them start their smithy. Ginny and Ron had such a lovely time in their friends' clan, that they decided to leave their birthplace, and become a part of the newly formed clan. To reflect this long-lasting friendship, the clan now became and remains to the present day, the Clan of the Blazing Breeze.

After decades passed, Merlin and Freya decided it was time to let their offspring lead the clan. Merlin would send the Quest Squads wherever his visions told him to, and Freya would train the new members of the Protection Squads in the Guard.
Busy with their new duties, Merlin and Freya decided to pass their leadership roles onto Arthur and Gwen, who took over with the promise to lead as thoughtfully and with as much care as the previous leaders.
