Clan Info

(I am now playing the Nuzlocke Challenge)

The small mismatched clan had been living peacefully foraging and accepting others into their midst as often as they were asked.
One such event occurred but a cycle after the earth flight had shaken the land in celebration, a sickly looking skydancer dragged itself to the lair entrance begging for assistance. It's breathing was harsh and watery, eyes gummy and a thick black sludge dripped from it's nostrils. The guardians of the clan lumbered forward lifting and bringing the stranger inside.
The clan tried as best they could but it seemed the poor Derg was drowning in it's own lungs. In but a few hours it had passed, the next to go down with fluid lungs were the hatchlings, only a day after the skydancer was gone the hatchilngs began to cough, hacking up a black tar like substance. Mere hours later they all lay quiet... The adults lasted days some lay dying, while others rushed about trying their best to help. In the end only two were left praying to the Icewarden for relief from the ailment that assails them, in one way or another.

Weitan the surviving Imperial drug himself from the lair in search of help, ticksniper lay in a corner near the hoard of food doing her best to keep herself fed and hydrated. Weitan did not return, days pass and ticksniper begins to feel stronger.

Stumbling about the cavern, she mentally begs for someone to be alive. Searching through each dergs personal hoard she prayed for someone to be hiding in the cracks maybe a snapper had buried themselves to try to find rest.

The search was fruitless, no one turned up, no one crawled out of a hole or wriggled out of a crack, everyone was gone...
She started rooting through the private stash of a hoarder of coths', hoping for some sort of warm, heavy rags to throw on top of her for a simulation of the weight of the Fae friends that would sleep atop her. Digging through light silks and dense ragged ornate cloth fragments, her claw dragged lightly across something hard. Interested she cleared the fabric away to find a hard oval stone.
It was an egg! Worried she plucked it out of the fabric to hear scrabbling within, the baby was alive! Placing the egg nestled back in the cloth pile she curled around it providing warmth to the shaking oval. The egg cracked revealing a small brown eye, little claws peeped through pushing at the crack the side. It small hole splayed open and the little gray head of a female guardian popped out to rest on the side of the shell. The baby then pushed her back legs out forcing the shell wider, she stumbled out of the shell to look up at the head high above her. Ticksniper leaned down and began licking the newborn clean, she picked the newly cleaned babe up from the pile by her baby scruff and tucked her beneath her wing.

Making sure the babe would stay warm tucked against her body ticksniper began to gather up all the food she could carry, knowing she'd be unable to hunt for more until the hatchling was old enough to accompany her. Using the fabrics she found around the cave she tied food into bundles and hung them over her back and neck. Laden down with bundles she took one last look around her home. Though she wished she could stay, she dare not for fear the sickness would return to claim the hatchling.

Bracing herself for the trek she shifted her weight around to make sure nothing would fall as she walked. Saying one last brief farewell to her clan home she stepped out into the cold.

The wind howled through the cracks in the ice as she carefully wound her way across the frigid floes. Crossing a large solid mass of ice she began to sniff around in hope of finding it uninhabited. If it was she thought perhaps this would work as a new lair but sniffing about further she discovered a foul odor. Creeping carefully along she searched for it, she couldn't risk the hatchling but she had to know if the illness had reached here. The odor grew worse as she came upon the near unrecognizable corpse of a deceased dragon.
Ticksniper clenched her wing over the hatchling worriedly but continued on to see if anyone else from it's clan survived. Poking around she found a half covered tunnel only large enough for her head and neck. Careful but curious she lowered her head into the hole. Nothing moved within as she craned her neck around a twist in the tunnel. To her surprise she spotted a small nest and another deceased dragon. Within the nest were two shining eggs. Reaching within with her long claws she began to dig the small cave to a point where she could fit further within. Gently pulling the eggs from their nest she tucked them under her wing next to the hatchling, and turned to continue her journey.

Hurrying now, she sniffed along her way, smelling for the least populated area she could find. She wanted nothing to do with outsiders, she had to care for her new clan. Snatching up anything that looked vaguely useful as she hunted for a new lair spot, she could only hope to find a nice unclaimed place. As she wandered further and further from the land she knew, the world around her felt more unfriendly but also cleaner and less inhabited.
As she wandered she saw a great ice shelf in the distance. Praying it wasn't soft or unstable she rushed to it.
Reaching the Goliath ice structure she dug a claw into it. It was not soft enough to make much of a dent with such a small action, rearing up she smashed her great paw into it and a chunk fracture off but the mass itself did not crack. Reassured that this ice would be stable enough to support a lair, she began slashing at it. It took near an hour before she made a big enough divot to lie in. Carefully lying on on one side she reached up and untucked first the wriggling hatchling which she placed close to her belly facing the wall and then the precious glittering eggs beside the hatchling.
Turning back to the hatchling she ran the the tip of her paw pad over her head, "I think I will call you Lucky." Tucking everyone into her to sleep she covered the opening with her body and finally lay her head down to sleep.

Ticksniper awoke suddenly to a shaking in the hollow. Looking down she noticed both eggs rocking against her belly. She watched in silence as both eggs split to reveal a pair of tundra boys. Licking them both clean she turned and pulled a food sack from her back and fished out some meat and a couple pieces of greenery she thought might suffice for the tundras. She gathered all the hatchlings to her and placed food in front of them. They snatched what was given and gobbled it down. Turning to the tundra boys she named them Winterberry and Stareyes.
