-TOTALLY SKIPPABLE INTRODUCTION-
The place looks dead on the outside. A tumbleweed meanders in front of where you stand, the clouds drift hazily away, and lightning strikes in the background, disrupting the otherwise very silent atmosphere. You're not really sure where you're at, or why you're here- all you know is that you saw "FREE STUFF" hanging on a sign, and you wanted to check it out. Was this place even functional? Probably not. There's a large door that's kind of just hanging there. You poke it- it collapses. You hear some faint noise coming from somewhere, and being naturally curious, you take a few steps forward down a gently sloping tunnel. You notice another door. This one's more intact, and you can definitely hear noise coming through. You hear a loud crash- yep, definitely more noise. You don't know what's in there- do you still go in?
Yes.
As the door opens, a giant bang resounds in the air as pink, blue and green lights almost blind you. There's a giant underground laboratory in here, and an object is sailing through the air towards a giant green sub- wait, is that a dragon? Chatter hangs through the air, sparks are everywhere, and dragons and machinery are bustling all over the place. Smoke almost engulfs you, and the beams shudder as a cannon is fired into the air. Yes, a cannon. Somehow they managed to make the cannon fly into the air- there's a dragon standing in its place, kind of dazed and confused.
A spiral, noticing your confusion, goes up to you.
"Hello, and welcome to my experiment! Well, lab. Experiment. Lab experiment. Eh, same thing."
As a beam collapses in the distance, the dragon- Peppercorn, according to the name tag- continues talking.
"You probably came for the free dragons, didn't you? I can't think of any other reason you'd notice this place. Hmm, you know, we haven't been getting a lot of people lately. We need to get started on repairs, don't we."
She beckons you forward, and you follow her in the midst of sparks, interns, and coffee.
"We've got a collection of random stuff we don't really want, so we're selling them at reduced prices. Over there, you'll find the items (mostly bones, it's kind of creepy), a giant horde of seafood up above and some other stuff we really have no use for down below, random clothes nobody wants hanging in the elevators...oh, and we've got some pesky familiars who won't stop following us over there, and over there are the dragons- we have no idea what to do with those crazy interns- maybe the coffee did something to 'em."
A dragon flies up into the sky- others hoot and holler, and clink (...glowing?) coffee cups. Seems like they finally got the machinery going.
"You'd normally have to pay a small price to help fund our research, but we've noticed recently that all the coolkid offices and labs have art made by little hatchlings covering the walls. We want to be coolkids also something like that too, so if you can provide us with a doodle, we may be able to get you want you want, no payment necessary. How's that sound?"
