[b]Basic Moonbeast[/b]: A Moonbeast that meets the requirements for one of the basic 9 colorations- Standard, Direwolf, Kitsune, Maned, Moonlight, Moonshadow, Bluemoon, Opal, and Deity [b]Alpha Moonbeas[/b]t: An Imperial Moonbeast. For the longest time, Moonbeasts were Tundra only, Imperials are a recent add. All the requirements are the same. [b]Variant[/b]: Must meet the "Variant" criteria listed in the Genetics section. One parent must be a Basic Moonbeast. Mate cannot have a Moon tert. Variants cannot be used to breed other Variants. [b]Mutt[/b]: The offspring of two Basic Moonbeasts of different colorations (ex. a Kitsune and Direwolf, etc). Mutt Moonbeasts cannot be used to breed other Mutt Moonbeasts. To be considered official, both parents must be Basic Moonbeasts. Note: if offspring happen to meet the criteria of a Basic Moonbeast coloration instead, then they are considered a Basic Moonbeast not a “Mutt”. [b]Cured Moonbeas[/b]t: A Basic Moonbeast that has its tertiary gene changed from Stained to Runes. To be an official Cured, it has to start as an official Basic Moonbeast. Cured Moonbeasts cannot breed other Cured Moonbeasts. [b]Moonbeast Descendant[/b]: Offspring that are related to a Moonbeast but don’t fall into an Offical Category. This category is good for those who want to breed Basics with random mates, breed Specials [Variants, Cured, Mixed,Hybrid], keep Variant misses & near misses, and/or write lore for their misfit offspring, etc. You can add a “Moonbeast Descendant” badge to their bio so it ties back to the Subspecies. Anything a Mutt breeds with would be considered a Moonbeast Descendant (unless it meets criteria of a Basic Coloration). • Mutts are like “trophy” Moonbeasts. They can be one of a kind. You can even use Mutt breeding to obtain Moonbeasts outside of the Basic color ranges such as greens, blues, and purples etc. • Through strategic Mutt breeding, you can get a Moonbeast of any color. This means it can be used to breed other mixed breeds and variants! [indent][left][font=Calibri] [b]Color Hints:[/b] • Top range Kitsunes (Ivory/Flaxen) bred with bottom range Standards (Midnight/Shadow) will get you in the green, blue, purple ranges • Maned bred with Moonlight can produce light pinks and whites. • Moonlight bred with top range Standards can produce Orcas. • If you want a shot at Opal, take advantage of the rare Basics and Diety colorations to shorten the color ranges. May’s Flower Moon Diety in particular. • Two Opals can breed Mutts as long as they are different colors. Same goes for any XXY Moonbeast Coloration • For Example: Offspring of Moonshadow XXY Shadow and Moonshadow XXY Abyss would be considered Mutts.
