Hey! I used to have an account a couple years ago and just made a new account this week. I’m a Peace Corps Volunteer with some downtime lately and like to mess around with my dragons while listening to podcasts (mainly True Crime Garage). Nice to meet you all!

hey, another career volunteer, nice to meet you! i was an americorps FEMA corps worker for a while and americorps vista for another while. taking a break from the volunteer life to take care of my grandma but i want to return to the community :D where are you serving?

@Kookaburra Hey! Nice to meet you, too. I’m in my second year in Cambodia. There are a few people here who did americoprs vista prior to PC. Have you thought about PC at all for a future volunteering post? Of course there’s a million ways to volunteer back home too in more local communities.

@Venastrae oh neat! how's cambodia, are you enjoying yourself? what's your post like? i've thought about it a lot- the only reason i ended up in americorps over PC was because americorps replied first lol. PC is still a future possibility, right now tho grandma. she's 95! chicago has a lot of local stuff to help with, though :p

@Kookaburra I really enjoy it! It’s challenging and can be frustrating but I’ve learned so much and am just hoping my students are benefiting as much as I am. My site is rural but off of a main highway so traveling to the capital or anywhere isn’t too difficult. We live with host families for the entirety of our service in Cambodia and they are a lot of the best and worst parts of PC haha. And wow! 95!! My host Grandma here is 90 and I’m pretty sure she’s the oldest person I’ve ever gotten to know. It’s amazing to hear her talk about different parts of her life.
