Aww that bee is pretty! How did you convince it to crawl on your hand?
That fly! I usually like them but those guys are so noisy! They're like B-29 Superfortress bombers!

@Voronwis

I'm not sure why he liked me that much either. Maybe because I'm warmer than the surrounding area, which might helped him a bit with drying.

Sawflies aren't actually flies, they are more like primitive wasps. Unlike wasps, they can't sting, and live exclusively on plant matter. But yup, they can get noisy.

Fuhn fact: In the English language, you can actually tell whtether or not an animal that has 'fly' in the name is actually a true fly. Diptera have the syllable 'fly' as a separate word; like house fly, horse fly, hover fly, crane fly and therelike. Meanwhile, if it's written as a compound word, it's not a diptera, as seen in butterfly, dragonfly and the aforementioned sawfly, for example.
English is weird, but can sometimes be fun.

Edit: Also congrats on posting post #100 here. You deserve this spot.

Didn't expect to update this in a long time. Bad weather. And yet, a tiny critter has made its way into my home. It's a weevil, likely of the Apioninae-subfamily. The name of this family in my language translates to shrew-trunkers, since they are kinda shrew shaped? Germans are weird. @tomaytotomahto @Pixelspiral @Dragonfruiteen

It does kinda look like a shrew if you squint...

I have a couple new pics of bug encounters to share, I've just been too lazy to retrieve them off my phone... maybe I'll get on that after work today.

It's 'nose' looks like the elephant shrew's nose so the name is totally justified.:-)

I actually just managed to take pics of two more weevils, but onedrive is acting up and I'm to lazy to transfer them otherwise. Thus, they'll be posted when I get more pics of other critters too.

@Voronwis

True. Also, that pic is precious.

@tomaytotomahto @Pixelspiral @Dragonfruiteen Look at this beauty! A malachite beetle. Also, as promised, two more pics of two more weevils. Both seem to be the same species as the last one.

@Pixelspiral Ohh, that's quite the collection. Neat. And that is in fact a a good dwebble. I don't know about the species you want to know, but I know that the satg beetle is not a European stag beetle. Ours aren't stripey. ------ Now, to my new pics: THis cute zebra jumper found its way into my home. But the world outside also had some critters. Odonata are hard to photograph. Skittish and fast. This is the best I could do. It's likely the creatively named "large red damselfly". Very descriptive. And of course, a fly. A common green bottle fly this time. Shiny animals, quite nice to look at. Lastly, not a live invertebrate, but kinda impressive and surprisingly less blurry than expected. An orb weaver web containing a bunch of different diptera (and some plant seeds. Did you know some spider eat those too?) Click here for larger image. It's worth it. Trust me. @tomaytotomahto @Pixelspiral @Dragonfruiteen
