Edit 2-4-16: I do not have the time to update or continue this now. The data in this post is so old as to be basically useless due to the number of new items and enemies added since I last updated.
Edit:
This guide is on hiatus until the changes the coliseum loot system is going through is done. I do plan to redo and expand it once they are, but until then gathering data would be a massive waste of time as soon as they add one new item and remove another.
Disclaimer: This is going to be similar in nature to the fantastic Coliseium Monster and Loot Tables guide but with a higher sample-size oriented towards long sessions, item value, and food quantity.
In short: A Farmer's Guide to the Coliseum.
This guide will avoid use to many item-links to ensure it loads reliably during peak FR times.
-Changes are being made to the loot tables very gradually, parts of this guide may be rendered obsolete randomly, until I fix the issues. Please let me know if you notice any inconsistencies or major math errors.
-The goal of my data gathering is to form a definitive conclusion on where to farm for specific items, food, and treasure. The guide is being created to share my data with the community.

1) How To Build Your Farmers
Coliseum Grinding Guide - Covers builds nicely, so I won't cover it further here.
Consult that guide for a nice explanation of what to give your dragons and why.
I personally recommend leveling your dragons to at least level 13-15.
For reference, I used Sosviing, Fofenven, and Uskusth. They have a predictable farming/glass cannon build.
2) General Tips
Some basic farming concepts to get you started
3) Where to Farm
I'll put more here or revise this when I have conclusive date.
4) Explanation to the Guides
The data for each area is based on approximately 500 battles
Time Elapsed: The approximate amount of time it took to defeat 500 encounters
Total Haul: The Amount of Treasure that would be gained if every item found, minus the "bonus" items, if sold with the "Sell" button in the hoard. AKA the "vendor value"
Treasure Per Minute Total Haul / Time Elapsed
Units of Food The amount of each food type gained when added to the cache
[Section] Value: Vendor value of that section of items.
[Section] Encountered: List and number of each item or item group encountered for it's section. For example, since battle items are dependent on mob element, I will simply list slash, bolt, fragment, buffs, etc. and not by each individual element or type.
Bonus Items: Items so rarely encountered they do not figure into the total haul, since they do not drop at a predictable rate even with a high sample size.

2) General Tips
Some basic farming concepts to get you started
- First and foremost, it's almost always going to be most profitable to farm somewhere that your dragons can one-shot the mobs, either with scratch or eliminate. If your times per kill do not match the ones in this guide, you will not make as much treasure. Attacking twice, or rallying before an attack, doubles the number of turns it takes per kill.
- Farming isn't just luck based, more time spent farming will always mean more drops. More drops means the chance of some of them being high value or rare is increased.
- Until changes are made to the loot tables, it is likely not worth it to farm the Boreal Wood or Harpy's Roost. The kill-time-to-treasure ratio is just too low in my experience, so this guide will only cover through the Arena for the time being.
3) Where to Farm
I'll put more here or revise this when I have conclusive date.
- Treasure: Inconclusive right now, Woodland Path, Delta, or Arena
- Insects: Training Fields or Bamboo Falls
- Meat: Scorched Forest or Sandswept Delta
- Seafood: Woodland Path or Waterway
- Plants: Woodland Path or Bamboo Falls
- For a mix of Everything: Sandswept Delta
