Ampelope
A hoofed herbivore with curved horns and long ears. Ampelopes are found in Thunderhead Savanna, where they absorb energy from the charged atmosphere to power their sprints. Their pelts are charged with static electricity. On starry ampelope, this charge causes white spots to appear on their coat, resembling a starry sky. Ampelopes are prey for many carnivores on the savanna.
Amphithere
A serpent with feathered wings. Amphitheres are found in Rainsong Jungle. When they shed their skin, they lose their feathers as well. They are small enough to be held by a Fae dragon.

A dangerous creature with avian and reptilian traits, which can magically petrify or paralyze its attackers. They may also be called cockatrices. Some basilisks appear similar to roosters, with webbed wings and a scaly tail. Others are similar to serpents with rooster heads and webbed wings. Their petrifying ability seems to differ, depending on what type of basilisk it is. They are mainly found at the Woodland Path, but may also appear in Ice and Lightning territory.
The candy cockatrice develops bright pink and blue scales if its diet includes enough sugar. However, this also shortens its lifespan.
The common cockatrice, which can be spotted by its avian form and dull yellow-green color, can paralyze creatures who hear its screeching crow.
The common basilisk, very similar to the common cockatrice, but dull red, can petrify dragons who meet its gaze into stone. Not even Earth dragons are immune to its effect. The marble cockatrice can also petrify dragons, but turns them to marble statues instead of normal stone.
The coral and grouse basilisk can force dragons who meet their gaze to freeze in place, but do not petrify them. They are hunted by dragons in pairs, so the untrapped partner can distract the basilisk and break its gaze. The firefly cockatrice uses the eye contact method, as well.
Fans made from basilisk feathers can supposedly keep a dragon young forever.

An enormous reptile with spikes in its hide. Boran have been domesticated as war mounts by sprangyroo and longnecks. They are usually outfitted with spiked armor, to prevent enemies from reaching the rider. Their armor is crafted from the remains of deep sea monstrosities. Boran are sometimes used in battles in the longneck Arena.
Bramble guardian
A cave-dwelling lizard with fungus-like growths on its shoulders. Bramble guardians live in colonies and eat pests, so some dragon lairs keep them to prevent infestations. Their fungus looks similar to the growth caused by parasitic fungus, which infects creatures with spores and takes over the brain of its host. In addition, lizards with a similar appearance to bramble guardians have been seen infected with parasitic fungus, in the same cave systems bramble guardians live in. Because of this, it is unclear whether the fungus growth is a part of bramble guardians, whether it is a benign type of infectious fungus with a symbiotic relationship, or whether all bramble guardians are being controlled by a variant of parasitic fungus.
Bramblecrown stoat
A weasel with light pink fur and a tough hide. Bramblecrown stoats migrated to Boreal Wood in the aftermath of the Bounty of the Elements. They wrap themselves in thorny vines, making them more difficult to catch. They are related to pebblehide stoats.

A mammoth with long horns and tusks. Bullephants migrated to Boreal Wood in the aftermath of the Bounty of the Elements. Their horns and tusks are made from ice crystals, and are a natural source of elemental ice magic. Bullephant trunks are a delicacy in warmer climates.
Mammophants are the warm-weather cousins of bullephants. Rather than ice, their horns and tusks are made from normal material. Some are seen in the Boreal Wood as well, but they must seek out hot springs to keep themselves warm. Their orange-furred trunks are sometimes used as a fancy garnish around the edge of a dish, but they don't taste very good.

Celestial antelopes can be found in Arcane, Fire, and Nature territory, while silver springboks are only found in the Arena.
Centaur
A mammalian Beastclan, with a humanoid appearance from the waist up and the body of a horse. Unlike most Beastclans, centaurs are for the most part friendly to dragon clans. Centaurs are known for their skill in archery, textiles, and music.
Centaur herds are made up of a group of family units, each with its own home (usually a wooden lodge). The makeup of these families change often, as individual centaurs move around.
Due to their alliance and trade with dragonkind, many centaurs are taken as apprentices in elemental magic.
The Dunhoof clan, which most centaurs are a part of, is friendly to dragonkind. Recently, other clans have split off from the Dunhoof, joining the battle against the dragons. These groups are named after their founders: the Wintermane clan is named after the leader of the herd, rather than the color of their manes (although members of this clan often do have white hair). Another clan is the Swiftfoot herd, which inhabits the Forgotten Cave. Swiftfoot warriors wear distinctive sashes.
In Thunderhead Savanna, centaurs have been spotted that are unusually short in stature, with their equine half resembling a pony rather than a horse.
Centaur archers possess incredible skill. Many begin their training before they can read.
Much centaur weaponry, including arrows, are crafted from onyx.
Some centaurs paint their coats before going into battle.
There are notable populations of centaurs in Everbloom Gardens, the Gladeveins, Wispwillow Grove, Foxfire Bramble, the Hewn City, Starwood Strand, Focal Point, and Snowsquall Tundra.

A creature with the characteristics of a mammal and a fish. They are quadrupeds with hooves, scales, and fins. It is semi-aquatic, and hunts prey by driving it onto thin ice and breaking the ice underneath it. They have been seen at Woodland Path and Scorched Forest. The clown charger, which has bright orange scales, has poisonous skin. This prevents most dragons from eating it. Clown charger fins can be used as an alchemical ingredient, but lose their usefulness if they are allowed to dry out.

They are capable of interbreeding with species that are part of their composition. Wild chimera live in prides, which will attack anyone wearing the hide of a chimera. Chimera are kept by the longnecks of the Arena to use in gladiator's battles. Ashmane chimera- which have shaggy grey fur, rounded horns, and cobra tails- are only found in parts of the Starfall Isles where Beastclans dwell. This may be a clue to how they are created.
Chimera fangs supposedly have mystical properties. Their pelts are difficult to tan, since they have a tendency to break apart.
The common variety of chimera can be found in the Light, Ice, Arcane, Nature, and Wind territories, while darktouched chimera can be found in Ice, Shadow, Plague, and Water.

An aquatic mammal, resembling a dolphin with translucent wings. While cloud chasers are green, there is also a brown and gold variant, called the golden porpoise. They are found in the Sea of a Thousand Currents.
Cloud chasers use their wings to leap great distances out of the water. They communicate in whistles and clicks. Their wings are not directly attached to their bodies, and they have metallic armor which is oddly constructed. This may be a clue to their origins.
Clouddancer
A predator with both mammalian and avian characteristics. Clouddancers are found at Harpy's Roost, and are named for their habit of playing in cloud banks. They have scales on their hide, as well as fur and feathers. Some clouddancers, called sunspot clouddancers, are born with a bright orange hide. They are more aggressive than the grey and white variety.

Their colors are meant to warn predators away, but some dragons are mesmerized by them. They produce a foul-smelling toxin which can be used in medicine.
Corpse cleaner
See Bonepriest
Corven
A bipedal avian Beastclan, similar to raptorik and aviar. Corven resemble anthropomorphic crows, with two arma, two legs, and wings. They coexist in settlements with raptorik, and the two species are collectively known as Talonok.
While raptorik serve as warriors and hunters, corven act as gatherers and spiritual leaders in talonok clans. As well as gathering food and ritual materials, they lead the clan in songs and scripture. Some corven who delve too deep into occult matters go insane and abandon their clan. These corven are known as tengu, and wander the wilderness during the night.
Corven sculpt huts out of mud, which they and the raptorik share. They live mostly on plains or near rivers.
Some corven clans in the Tangled Wood provide tarot readings for dragon clans, in exchange for supplies.
There are notable populations of talonok in the Viridian Labyrinth, around the Pillar of the World, parts of the Abiding Boneyard, Wispwillow Grove, Starwood Strand, Zephyr Steppes, and the Twisting Crescendo.

Dryad have been seen to have the following characteristics, although they may lack some or all of them depending on their habitat: they may sleep through the winter, only stay awake during the day, change the color of their foliage with the seasons, protect local flora and fauna, become allies with nature dragon clans, or guide trespassers into traps. Frostbite dryads are one type of dryad, which live in cold regions and attack travelers weakened by the cold.
Two of the best-known dryad clans are on the Woodland Path, and in Blooming Grove.
Ghost-painted ferns, a type of plant that has brightly colored orange leaves, are commonly mistaken for a sign of angry dryads in the area. They are actually naturally occurring.

Dryads may warn dragon clans that they have settled too close to a grove by leaving a fungus-covered branch at the entrance to the lair.
There is a type of fungus called "dryad's saddle", which is the subject of a legend about the consequences of attempting to saddle a dryad.
Dryads create creatures called wood ear deer, which resemble deer made out of wood and plant life. These constructs assist in guarding the grove. When a season has passed, they change color and become even more dangerous. At this stage, they are called white rot deer.

Warmwater twisters live in deep water at Volcanic Vents, where they anchor their tails and catch fish caught in vortices.
Firecoilers are able to withstand the heat of magma. They live in molten pools at Volcanic Vents. They snatch prey from the banks and drag it into the lava.
Elemental guardian bear
Mysterious elemental creatures, in the form of a bear with characteristics from its element. These beings are the guardians of the elemental regions, possibly shaped by the draconic deities themselves. There are eleven types, one for each element.
