TOPIC | Feeding Priorities Guide
1 2 3
After considerable investigation I have found that dragons eat in this order:

1. Faes (insects), Tundras (Plants), Ridgebacks (Seafood), and Wildclaws (Meat)

2. Pearlcatchers (Plants and Insects) and Mirrors (Meat and Seafood)

3. Spirals (Insects and Meat) and Snappers (Plants and Seafood)

4. Skydancers (Insects and Plants)

5. Guardians (Meat, Seafood, Plants, and Insects)

6. Imperials (Seafood, Meat, Plants, and Insects)

7. Coatls (Seafood) and Nocturnes (Insects and Meat).

With the exception of Coatls, the general rule is that the fewer food types a dragon will eat, the higher a priority it will be when you're feeding them.

The exact type of food you are feeding does not affect the order they will be fed in, and older dragons eat first, but that only counts within their own breed. An older dragon of one breed will not eat before a younger dragon of another.

An older Imperial will eat before a younger Imperial, but an older Imperial will not eat before a younger Guardian.

Hopefully this will let new and old users alike manage their food stores effectively. The admins have said that they intend to work on this mechanic, although the details of how they plan to change it have not been given. For now, this is how things are running.

On to the evidence!

Ages or ID numbers. Young Guardian versus Old Imp, in this case I am using Bumbag because he is younger than Snowslide. So the Guardian eats first regardless of age. Now a young Imp versus the old Imp: Artemis, who is younger than Snowslide. So the older Imperial eats first. This means that the ID numbers are only factored in when it's the same breed.

Obligates versus Two types: Ridgeback versus Coatl, Mirror, and Snapper Ridgeback ate first, leaving the Coatl, Mirror, and Snapper. Thus we see that Coatls are a bit odd, but aside from them, the first priority goes to dragons that only have one food type available to them for their diet.

@Glorious No, you're okay, I'm finished, for now. If it isn't changed before a new breed comes out, I'll just add them on.

@Atropa It seems that Nocturnes are placed after coatls. Maybe repeating the cycle? I don't have a before picture, but I just fed my dragons. While feeding meat, the mirrors and spirals ate before the nocturne. I moved onto seafood with the nocturne unfed and the coatls also ate before the nocturne. @Purnima

Coatls will eat before Nocturnes if you're offering seafood because Nocturnes only eat insects and meat. I'll be testing them myself shortly, but if they eat after Pearlcatchers, Mirrors, and Spirals, I'll have to test them against Imperials and Guardians to see where they lie.

Now I feel stupid. I can't believe I didn't see that. XP I guess I wasn't full reading it and thought it said meat and seafood. Sorry about that.
