in exchange for its life, a nervous-looking feline creature would nudge a smaller feline towards me. before i could object, it would escape, practically worried for its life. the smaller cat was an affectionate type, already rubbing its scent on my legs. "aren't you a cute one?," i murmured. to preserve this cat's life, i headed home. there was no other place to keep him aside from in the vault where we'd keep the treasure that we wanted to hide from raiders. "stay here, okay?"

gradually, i grew attached to this cat. i wanted to find more and more friends for him, whom i had named leo, namesake of his mane-like chest fur. my former assailants began to give me more and more of the small felines, who would proceed to be kept inside of the vault.

however, to my shock, i would eventually be forced to the servitude of our deity. mortified, i tried to fight the escort, who wouldn't listen to my pleas. i've been here for so long. i don't know what could have happened to them.

---((cue obligatory pov change))---

we were looking for some more food for our gradually growing clan. i didn't think that what i found would make me sick to my stomach, calling for the leader of our small band of dragons. it had been a while since we had needed to go to our stash of food that we kept in a nearby cave, and i had expected that the cold would have preserved our now little sustenance, preventing it from rotting. entering the cave, i was horrified to see what appeared to be what was previously hundreds of.. cats? left to rot. to stay alive, they had resorted to eating things outside of their diet, eventually leading to cannibalism among one another. bodies were strewn across the frigid rock floor, the bones visible under expanses of winter coat. one living creature was seen among the lifeless bodies, a larger cat, visible fear and desperation visible in his eyes. life among the horror that had swept over this formerly thriving little cave of what would almost grow to be our food, only stopped by a friend of mine exalted to the earthshaker. was this leo? i know that she would have wanted him to be safe. i was horrified at what had happened here, chanting in my head to announce that we needed to stop hoarding living creatures. it wasn't safe or moral, even for us.

And if a silence filled the air do you think that anyone would even care? Would they be aware... of the mounting snow...
Why? I am crawling, wounded. I am at rest here, where so many accept me. I heard you in the darkness, heard your warring. I reached to help you, yet you hurt me. You wounded me. I was helpless, so I slumbered for 50,000 years. Until the Arcanist awoke me. He called to me, and I reached for him... A friend... But he was as scared as you were. So I smashed the barrier to reach you. Soon after, you warred. Windsinger, Flamecaller, you fought tooth and claw over the smoke in the air. When your child, Spiritmemory, was born, she understood. She reached for me, and I reached back. I hesitated, then I became solid. I could touch things without destroying them. I was beautiful. And you locked us away. We became gods in our own right, locked deep within the strange limbo that is neither here nor there, the Glitchlands. And then your lover freed us. I was happy and free. And then I was shattered and broken. And then I reached again, to her nephew, and I became whole. Although, being male was quite strange, I am used to it now. And maybe now, I can finally have peace. tip-toes into the room You're training fodder as per usual. You encounter a 4-pack of enemies. Normally (let's say you were training fodder in the mire), it was a 4-pack of the good-old mages. However, now there were melee enemies in your way. Your trainer already has enough breath to dish out 3 eliminates. You make your move. One of your eliminates missed. No matter, you already took out one of the enemies. Then it's their turn. A scratch has dealt a critical hit to one of the fodder dragons. 372 damage. Your trainer has less than that amount of health left. But, they weren't the ones who were knocked out. Another scratch has been delivered to the trainer. Critical hit. They go down. The enemies finish off the last fodder dragon. You're met with the defeat screen. The regular message would have been. "Sadly, your dragons have met their match in the Coliseum" and then some more words. Your message was this.
Sadly, your dragons have met their match in the Coliseum. Unfortunately, they were killed while trying to leave. ... (HINT: Check your lair.)
What? Dragons can't die in this game. Like the hint said, you went to check your lair. Your trainer dragon is in their defeated pose, except that it wasn't greyed out. There is also a symbol in their little bar under the energy one. The energy one, you noticed, had a red tint to them. The symbol was a little white wing similar to that of a dove's. Your mouse hovered over it. "This dragon has passed." Dragons can't die. Dragons can't die. Dragons can't die. You should go to bed now. It's getting late. ... You wonder why there are pale, pleading eyes watching you as you sleep. (sorry this is my first time trying to write a creepypasta)
tip-toes into the room

You're training fodder as per usual.

"This dragon has passed."

Dragons can't die.

Dragons can't die.

Dragons can't die.

You should go to bed now. It's getting late.

...

You wonder why there are pale, pleading eyes watching you as you sleep.

Not gonna lie, this would be a really cool event.
Just think about it, all the flights temporarily uniting against a bigger threat, it would be like a huge sitewide boss battle.

He/she didn't want to leave you for the Windsinger.
Deserters are fairly common, now go write about the tragic tale of skinning and wearing another dragon's hide in order to avoid the endless exaltee draft.
