What if we don’t have access to Discord?

@V88 Sure! I'll add her to the list.

@Rivershard Well, first, Discord is only necessary for players who draw mafia roles (Hunters). Mafia players who don't have Discord will have to arrange with the rest of the mafia how they want to communicate. I'm willing to help and be flexible with that, though I'm not sure what a good alternative would be. (Discord is free and available in browser-based form, though.)

A lot of mafias use quicktopic, which you do not need an account to use. (You need one to make a topic though) and It's free.

@V88 I don't know much about Quicktopic, but IIRC you only need the link to access the topic, right? I need something that I can shut former mafia members out of when they die, since they can potentially respawn as innocent in the future. (Once everyone they were mafia with dies -- can't have someone spawning innocent with knowledge of who the mafia is.)

I was thinking of alternately using Chatzy, which I suppose could work if I changed the password to the chatroom every time a mafia member died.

@lukra I’ve been debating this, but I’ll play. I’ll let you know which dragon when I get on my
computer later today.

@Cognitive All right! I'll reserve a spot for you. I'm glad you decided to join us after all!

@Lukra Thanks! I'll play as Adalwin. He wants to rob the place blind, but why not?

@Cognitive I wish him the best of luck with that, and I'll add him to the register.

@Lukra I'm interested in playing, but I've only played non-RP mafia before. Are there any major differences? Do I have to use a dragon that has a bio?

@dandelionfires So, the primary difference is just that all discussion takes place in-character, and discussion is typically less meta -- because their characters wouldn't necessarily know the rules of mafia games like the players do, there's often more exposition and more questions asked.

I don't really play non-RP mafias so my ability to compare is limited. But if you'd like some examples, here's one of the RP mafias I've run before -- you could glance through it to get a sense of what this game will be like.

(You're also welcome to sign on as a spectator -- which means you'll be pinged for day and night posts -- and watch the game for a while before deciding whether to sign up; the beauty of this specific game is that you can sign up at any time, even if the game's been running for a while.)

You don't have to play with a dragon who has a bio, but for RP purposes, you probably will want to build some sort of character for them -- there's no requirement to write it down in their bio, though.
