@cassiopeiae
Here's Cinereous':
Quote:
Let me tell you a tale
Let me spin you a story
Of faraway lands and epic heroes
Of skirmishes and mishaps
Legendary quests and cautionary tales

Stirring melodies
Melancholy dirges
Songs that make you weep
For sorrow
Or laugh with joy

Music is a language that all worlds speak
Connects all hearts
Spins a web of sound and heart
And feeling

Surely I am a magician
For my craft is song
A journey for a penny
A tale for a dime
Stop by and listen anytime

Quote:
Keep your wings straight
And your routes to their courses
Look before you leap
Keep your eyes open

A fine here, a ticket there
Follow the laws of traffic
There's a speed limit for a reason
Go slow around the nurseries
And nesting grounds

Go where you're directed
At the crossroads and trading grounds
Avoid collisions!
Remember the import and export laws!

One day I'll rise in rank
This is just a stepping stone,
On the way to go
I do my job and do it well,
Some call me stubborn but
I keep the skies safe

Quote:
How cold metal is,
When surrounded by ice
Cold metal on a hot day is
Equally nice.

Buffering....buffering
A store of food against the cold
Insulated persevered.
Manager of reserve

Buffering....buffering
Slow and lagging
Buffering....buffering
Realign, try again
Say it again

Quote:
Who was that - that curdled the milk,
Tied knots in the cat's tail
Let chipskinks into the garden?

What was that whisper in the dark
- bright laughter,
A glimpse of mischievous grin
Shining in the shadows

Who's that -
Bonehead always smiling
Adorned in rags and
Purple like a Cheshire cat

He comes with wares to trade
Bits of beast clan,
Scavenged eggs
Be careful when you buy
There's always a chance
Something will go amiss

Thank you! I'm glad everyone's enjoying these
I wrote these three poems but didn't pay attention to the time so they were all yeeted into the void thanks to rollover, so here we go again

For Warsong:
Quote:
I am blood and bones and battlegrounds
Like - earthquakes, like fires, like -
Teeth gnashing, like boulders crashing
Like - sirens, like - riots, Like -
I'M ALIVE, I'M ALIVE, I'M ALIVE

I am war song - I am battle lust,
Bone plugs clenched in bloody palms
Pounding heart like - war drums,
Like - turning tides, like - battle cries
Thundering out like - screaming out like -
AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN

I am the last line, the life line-
Like - a wall they can't climb,
Like - a barricade, like - a border
Like - a force of nature
Raised on battle, on chaos and pain
War is all I know,
AND I WILL NOT BE BROKEN

The poem THE OPEN FIELD OF MY BODY, by Ashe Vernon reminds me of her too, so be sure to check that out!

For Solitude:
Quote:
Ruins and wastelands,
Abandoned castles,
And ghost towns in the desert

Empty corridors and dusty rooms
Footprints on the surface of the moon
Liminal spaces lingering,
Waiting, for something

Withered flowers and broken clocks
Broken hourglasses, times run out
Burned out candles and unanswered prayers
Silence hanging in the air

Ivy climbs crumbling walls,
The smell of mothballs, and dust
Trinkets someone once cared about
Abandoned castle on hill
Forgotten by all,
But one.

For OldForest:
Quote:
Vines climb trees and grow
And squeeze, and strangle
Suck the life away
Then the host tree dies and
Leaves a latticework of wood behind

The forest is built on layers of decay
On fungus and death and rebirth
A million little mouths returning
Life to the dirt

The acorn becomes an oak
And the sapling becomes a pine
Does a tree fall in the forest if everyone hears it?
Wood rots with the help of new seeds
And earthworms, and fungus sprouts

Life becomes death,
Death becomes food
And the cycle starts again
An ecosystem built
On layers of decay

That's how a forest grows my dear
