A god and his creations are usually a benevolent thing. But not always.
A creature came to life in the middle of nothingness. A beating heart spread out into utter horrid madness, little by little, over millions of years. It lived. Scales formed into writhing tentacles, into organs, into planetoid living masses of pure black flesh. All this culminated in one, true eye. One true eye in the middle of this dimension. One true eye that if you meet its stare, power overtakes you, power corrupts you. It may seem like a horrid prospect to some fearful, some uneducated clans of the world. But some dragons believe that that is the only way to live.

Many dragons have not seen the light of the beast’s eyes. Many have only heard it recited in stories or cautionary myths told to hatchlings about doing the right thing. But Abyss lives, Abyss has existed since the beginning of time. Abyss is the one true survivor.
Abyss created its own earth from its very body.
Abyss created pestilence and nightmares from itself.
Abyss created its own weather with a single flick of a claw.
Abyss has made lakes and rivers from its own blood.
It has created storms that wreak havoc on its own territory.
It has created ice, frozen territory from the chill of its own breath.
It creates shadows with its great, massive eye.
Some can only see the light in its existence.
It creates magic far stronger than what Sornieth can ever dream.
It has created life, nature from its very own beating heart.
It has created flame from the warmth it may bring.

Abyss may be a nightmare deep in the head of those uneducated, but Abyss is stronger. Abyss survives. Embrace him and awaken, with all the others who see the truth. Join us in the light of its eyes for all of time.

His Arrival

But it was just a matter of time until he came. And one fateful day, it happened.

A rift opened over all of Sornieth, in the territory on the border of both Shadow and Plague practicing the magic of the great Abyss. The dimensional rift sliced open on a crystal, and when a dragon placed a single claw on it… they were transported into the world of horrid magic, tentacles, watching eyes and pools and lakes of blood… They were transported into Abyss itself.

But the rift wasn’t just keeping things in. It was keeping things out as well.

9bTuuUBr_o.png

Abyss’ influence had seeped into all that had come before, creating many new species of nightmarish abominations. It had been there before, but since the Rift appeared, it had multiplied tenfold. His creations were monstrous, and they stalked the night looking for ones to turn into more of their own. He called them… The Heartless. His horrid, wretched creations seeped into the minds of the Magus. And to create them…? Well… It was just a swift little procedure…

Soon, the Syndicate discovered that Abyss was trapped in that dimension. He was unable to create a draconian form, and unable to spread his influence through the rift in which the Syndicate could walk, at least without the Syndicate's worship. He, someday, will be freed. And he will rule.

Abyssal Relics
(Only one dragon can hold each relic.)

The Syndicate has seen Abyss, and they have seen the ones he favors. Their offerings of magical tomes and emblems are transformed into items of immense and destructive power. Some of these... 'Abyssal Relics' have been used for horrible things. Not many have currently been given, but... maybe next time, he himself will except your offerings. And maybe you will be trusted with this power...

The First Relic
The Abyssal Tome
(Represented by: Shadow Tome )
The First Relic was discovered when the First Offering was made: An ordinary spellbook along with a glass of the blood of a pure dragon, set atop the tome, adorned with meat and spice. The event was recorded in a tome of the Syndicate's history, a tentacle bursting out of the ground and spilling the blood, leaving a stain on the tome before disappearing with the spices and meat offered alongside it. The tome was opened and gifted immense power, the spells inside containing necromancy, summoning, and many other spells...

The Second Relic
Cloak of The Void
(Represented by: Bramble Mantle )
The Second Relic was discovered by pure coincidence. One of the new Magus' spells happened to misfire, and through Abyss' will alone, the cloak it hit came alive.

The new cloak was a surprisingly strong entity, attacking the dragon nearest to it. It bound to the skin of the poor dragon, and became what appears to be a parasite. But this power is quite a gift, after all, it is a stronger link to Abyss himself. And who wouldn't want that?

The Third Relic
Corrupted Spawn
(Represented by: Contaminated Halo )
(This item is a special exception. Five total dragons can handle these beasts.)
These halos aren't just halos. Crafted by the Plaguebringer, Abyss saw his own worth in them and brought them to the Syndicate. And thus, the Third Relic was created. More of the monsters spawned after that, although Abyss stopped their replicating... for now.

With experimental dark magic, they were eventually given new life as living, parasitic monsters. Some of the Syndicate took them on, but some had to find unwilling hosts... Unwilling hosts which gave up their minds to the Syndicate. Beasts which would become mutants to the degree of eyes, teeth ripping from their skin. Much like their own parasites.

@StarsAndMoon Looks like a cool subspecies! I've got several clutches hatching in the next week, I'll keep your post in mind to see if anyone hatches that fits.

@RadientAngel Thank you! I'm trying to add some more color to it currently, so the lore and everything is complete for now, but I just need to break up the paragraphs a bit. Do you have any suggestions for formatting?

Ooooooh mi gawd, this is awesome :O I usually don't like subspecies very much (to be perfectly honest), but this one might actually sway me... ♥
