Hi!! As you can tell from my clan bio, my lore's gone through a lot of wild turns.
And now I find that I have a lot of dragons with not a lot of development or personality or backstory or nothin'! I've seen a few people use these sorts of 'Ask a Dragon' or 'Ask My Lair' things to help with lore, so I want to give it a try to see if it can help! From what I can gather, you're supposed to add a link or image of the dragon you're asking along with the question, and I will ping you when I can with the dragon's in-character response!
This could also help me with my writing, heh... Please ping me if you have any questions and if you can't include a link or image for whatever reason, please specify what dragon you're talking to with name or something!!
So like uhh: "Eins, do you have a favorite child?"
And then I'd respond with an in-character response like:
'Eins fidgeted nervously with his claws at that question - He never enjoyed having to choose things. "Well, erm, I love all of my children equally," He nodded. "A-And while I would never pick anyone above another, I will admit that my adopted daughter Toska and my youngest daughter Cafune are both incredibly smart and kind ladies that I'm very proud of." The Nocturne hesitated. "-But that doesn't mean I pick favorites! Nonono! I just..They're bright girls and they. Actually like to talk to me." He looked down shamefully.'
I hope this works!!
(All my dragons are open except the ones I have up for auction!!)

The Guardian didn't seem to know how to respond to such a question, tilting her head to the side.
"My name....was given to me when I found that my path in life was no longer clear to me. 'Nodus Tollens'...It is the realization that, the story of you no longer makes sense to you anymore...I was lost for so long, so alone, that the phrase became more of a name to me than my previous one was. I barely even remember it." She glanced down at her apparel. "My armor is of a simpler answer - When I was younger, before I was the scribe of the clan, I was a fighter for some...other clan? Seemed more like an army, but those days are so hazy...I fought so often that being without defensive wear feels...naked. Exposed. I do not enjoy being vulnerable, even now, in a job so harmless. It does seem rather silly, though, does it not?" A small, hollow laugh escaped Nodustollens, as if she were attempting to make light of it all...And was failing to do so.

Satin shrugged, her raspy voice filling the room.
"Pop called me Satin," She wheezed. "so I guess that's my name. I was born into this Arcanist-forsaken clan back when it was still a market. Helped dear old dad with the trinkets he sold." She sighed. "-But when it all started fallin' apart my Ma an' I tried to get out of dodge before we got trapped in all the chaos and drama." Another shrug. "Pop was always a weirdo, so...Ma an' I left 'im."
An uneasy silence filled the room, nothing but her ragged, wheezing breaths now heard before she spoke again.
"But Ma couldn't really make it." She finally wheezed, sounding on the verge of coughing. "And I couldn't really make it without Ma. So...I turned back and headed back to Pop and the market. Or...what was. Left of it. Place had gotten shut down when I got back - All who stayed were a bunch o' sorry has-beens and the sorrier suckers who sought shelter 'ere and couldn't get out."
She shrugged one last time.
"I've embraced the fact that I'm a bit too sickly now to escape. It's a dull life being stuck here, but...Nowhere else to go. 'Sides, I guess I'm a Ma, now, too." She laughed a loud, raspy bark of a laugh. "Glad some o' those sorry hatchlings o' mine escaped...Good question, thanks for the question. Glad people still seem ta care 'bout the has-beens."

@IxNine99 - I have a general question about your lore plus a few for specific dergs if thats alright!
How does the clan take care of the hatchlings? Does it depend on the parents or is it generally communal? What happens to the babies you sell? Are they abandoned, auctioned off, or is it more up to the person who buys them?

The clan puts the care of the hatchlings in the hands of their respective parents, who will do with said hatchlings what they will (Like raise them strictly like what Geb did, or sell some for money like Vier did) - More often than not the task of caring for the hatchlings will fall more to one of the parents rather than to both. The fate of the hatchlings that I sell usually falls on what's happened to them after being bought - Though if they end up exalted I usually chalk that up to them being killed off by perhaps sickness or cruel parents.

Amenity thought a bit about the question. "Fluffernutter's a fine sister, I guess - She and I actually aren't that close. She's a lot older than me, you see - She tends to hang out more with her mate rather than with me or our mother. She's nice, though. I guess she's just not used to the idea of not being an only child. See, her brothers died from illness a short while after hatching, so she grew up alone. I guess I came along a little too late to fill whatever void that left." The Tundra didn't seem to upset about it.
"Oceans is a cool dude, though! He's not really used to being an older brother, I think, though. He likes to talk with me about books we read and places we want to visit. Kind of a skittish guy, though - He apologizes a lot and always gets nervous when he's around my mom. Probably has something to do with how his mom and mine don't get along, but I don't know for sure. Nice guy, though!" She smiled. "I'll have to ask him if he wants to hang out again sometime. As for being the daughter of the clan leader, it definitely has its perks - People don't get mad at me that much and I can get away with so much. I mean, not that I get into any trouble, but..You know what I mean."

Saudade seemed a bit confused.
"Erm, I've never noticed anything weird about what I can do." She responded. "I suppose that I don't really get sick like other hatchlings do...And I have weird dreams sometimes, but I always chalked that up to a strong immune system and an active imagination...Nodustollens never let me around my father - Well, she did once. But that was before my brother vanished." She looked down. "I...That's really all I can say."

Sobek frowned.
"Listen, I don't like talking about it. Bride was...on one of her missions, I suppose - Undercover? Or something? And I was somehow roped into assisting her. There was a gathering, a party of sorts, she got her mark and by then we'd both gotten drunk, and when we awoke..." He covered his face shamefully. "I-I'm very embarrassed about it. Fortunately, she seems to feel the same way."

The Nocturne grunted and shrugged. "I was good at it." He bluntly stated. "Ever since I was a hatchling. I dunno, isn't there like some sort of saying that you should stick to what you're good at? Well, when the only thing you're good at is raising up dead Beastclan monsters, it sort of narrows your career options." Enoch seemed rather upset at the question, but his expression softened almost as if he were embarrassed. "...And it's super cool to tell people you're a Necromancer."

"I-I...That isn't your business at all!" He squeaked. "I mean...Kudzu seemed...forgiving, I-I at least hope he really was being forgiving...B-But, well...I regret to say that the care of the hatchlings fell to Bride. She and her family had been in the clan for longer, so it was...like a respect thing. I don't know what she did with the kids, s-since they're not in the clan anymore - But I'm sure she wouldn't resort to murdering children."

Wander gave a good-natured smile. "Yes, I've been here since before my mother's first children even hatched. I, ah....Well, so many have come and left, I admit that I don't remember many...But
Fuffers' mate Nut was a fun fellow! He was technically my father, I supposed, but between you and I he always acted more like a distant uncle to me, or something. I don't miss him too much, but sometimes it feels a bit lonely knowing the man who saved you from a life of slavery is now dead." He stopped. "T-There was also a dragon in the clan named Juno who was around a while ago! We had a...thing. He left, I think. Went to go travel. I miss him quite often." The Mirror shook his head. "Listen, I prefer not to dwell on the past, though. All it brings is sorrow! I'm more excited about the newcomers to the clan than I am about the ones who've left it."

Xaviera looked as if she wasn't used to people asking her this as she stumbled around an answer. "Oh, um...Anything, really. I'm especially partial to rare or, ah, mystical items." She laughed nervously. "It's actually why I'm part of this clan - I arrived back when it was a market to purchase the exotic items offered there, and somehow I was convinced to stay." She fidgeted with her collar nervously, social skills clearly being something she lacked. "Mostly I just collect whatever I think is pretty, even if they may not have value - But jewelry and uncommon commodities are favorites of mine. I have such a cluttered hoard, though.." She shook her head and laughed again, still seeming surprised about how someone noticed her.

Do you want to obtain anymore apparel? A fine lady such as yourself looks quite incomplete with just a bow on your tail.

Malachite's expression lightened up like a festival at night, a smile crossing her face. "Darling, the answer to anyone asking me 'if I want more apparel' will always be yes. Always. A girl can never have too many clothes, honey!" She laughed loudly and genuinely, swinging her head back. "-But yes, honey, I really do need some new looks. I'm still a bit of a newcomer to this clan, though, and drifters like me don't tend to carry around too many dresses and stockings, if you understand what I'm saying. But honey, if you're offering to give me some new digs, I wouldn't be complaining about it~"

Well, isn't that just a kick to the head, huh? What would your boyfriend think? And also, what became of your kids? Did your lovely 'bride' kill them out of shame?
Sobek seemed rather flustered.

It seems you've been here a long time. You've probably seen a lot of what has happened to your clan- hatchlings hatched, dragons come and go- say, is there anyone you miss from the olden days?

So you're a collector? What do you collect?

Funf, what did you do to disappoint your dad?
Someday, the whole sky is going to light up, and it's gonna say, "TILT."
And that's gonna be the end of the world.
