@flyingenfield I recently bought this boy. He'll soon look like this though

“The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
@emmasquema Yep! On the existing list she's in the second row center. @Heeroku sorry for the wait, I was out doing a volunteer gig this morning. :) I've just added him to your Crossroads request. :) @mindlesslythea I have a pair that will be ready to breed tomorrow, I'll send them your way! :) @Abogado Ooooh he's going to be amazing! I just bought a few to gene up also but it's going to take awhile to get all the money for those scrolls I'll need. :D I think he'd totally work for the subspecies... I defined the brown-range secondaries as Copper only, but I think anything that would produce that green range of accent colors would be fine, and his scry looks great to me. Those wings come out with really beautifully aqua kind of highlights even though he's not Copper on that gene. Really interesting. I'll have to scry some more colors in that range and see which produce acceptable highlights, but I think Sand is probably a winner all around. I have a Snapper with Rust secondary, which is right next to copper in the color wheel, but her highlights come out super blue and purpley: So she's terribly unsuitable for the actual standard, but she should produce some babies that'll be perfect. :D

@WinterLeaf sure! I added you to that specific ping list, and I've finally got a few pairs going that should produce those genes too, so look out for a ping pretty soon, probably. :)

@flyingenfield Would this count as a breeding pair? @Heeroku Yep, their colors are spot on! And all of the offspring they produce will be in the exact color range, too. What a cute couple you've got there! :D Let me know if you want to be listed here as a breeder or anything, and of course when you produce babies you're more than welcome to post them here if you want to sell them!

I will probably turn the current to spinner and since their terms are odd is underbelly ok or is spines better do you think?

White and black range ok for tert?

I think the female will look good with underbelly, her tert is pretty perfect for that, but I definitely wouldn't go for underbelly on the male, that pear is REALLY green. :D Spines would be a good option for him. Just bear in mind their offspring will also have one or the other, so you could end up with babies that you'd need to do a remove tertiary just to make them look decent. :D If you want to gene the tertiary I'd probably go for spines on both... it's a subtle enough gene that even fairly bright colors don't interfere too much with the cave dragon's "look".

I've honestly gone for basic tert on a lot of these for just that reason... I'd rather have no visible tert at all than one that I need to remove. :D Kind of the same with the secondary... like if you apply Spinner to your female that's going to be a really overpowering strong blue that will sort of wash out the bright flecks on the body. I don't know that I'd call it disqualifying necessarily, but a more subtle gene there for her bright secondary color is kinda more true to the idea of the breed. I think she looks stunning with Peregrine, but that's just me. If you give her Spinner you could also end up with a really gorgeous Spinner range on her offspring. So it's really kind of a personal question not just of what you want your breeding pair to look like but what you want their offspring to look like, too.
