Hello and welcome to my Pinkerlocke! This was originally a personal project, I used two of my permadragons to keep track of all the drops and the story but it's slowly getting cramped and confusing after almost a month woth of drops. Hello and welcome to my Pinkerlocke! This was originally a personal project, I used two of my permadragons to keep track of all the drops and the story but it's slowly getting cramped and confusing after almost a month woth of drops. So here I am ^-^

Please be aware that english is not my first language! I am doing this mostly for my own enjoyment and practice. I don't think I'm a good writer to begin with and doing that in a foreign language is more difficult than I had thought xD
That said I'd be glad to get feedback from anyone who reads this. Please let me know if you find grammar or punctuation errors so I can do it better next time. It would be much appreciated!

I may skip days if I get too many writing days in a row since writing takes me quite a while, I usually rewrite every paragraph at least once >.>

Also a big thank you to all the Pinkerlocke and Nuzlocke writers that inspired me to do this, I really enjoy it and I would have never started this if it wasn't for you guys

Basic rules:
 • All loot obtained in the coliseum is irrelevant, as is the loot obtained from gathering.
 • There are no restrictions about applying apparel to your dragons. Do whatever makes sense to you. Same goes for familiars.
 • And, most crucially, all nuzlocke activity corresponds with the loot you obtain daily from Pinkerton's plundered pile!

Optional sentimental rule:
If a dragon reaches level 25 it "retires". It can join the ranks of your main lair.

Drops of Fate:

Food: Coliseum time!
Plants: 10-20 matches
Insects: 20-30 matches
Seafood: 30-40 matches
Meat: 40-50 matches

Kind of a Medium mode: You must select coliseum challengers in your lair using a random number generator. Then flip a coin, if Tails choose whichever venue you like, if Heads select the venue that is one tier down from that of highest level dragon (of course you can always choose a higher level venue). You can quit your battle streak at any time to regen health, and flee from battles if it is appropriate. Don't try do 50 matches in a row unless you want a wiped-out dragon!

Battle items: Uh-oh!!!

Flip a coin.
Heads = DEATH STREAK
Tails = Nothing happens

DEATH STREAK rules: Randomly select three dragons using a random number generator. Fight in the coliseum using the "food" rules 10 rounds consecutively (ie. you cannot leave that arena), quitting midway if a dragon dies. If you are using the easymode rules, switch to the hardmode rules for battlestones.

Note that there is currently a glitch in which Pinkerton mislabels materials as trinkets. If you obtain a "trinket" from Pinkerton, double check to make sure its not actually a material!

Materials: Do some writing for your nuzlocke. How does your new nuzlocke clan change and develop? What are your dragons like personality-wise? How do they get along? How do they die? Is there an antagonist in this nuzlocke, or are they merely struggling against the forces of nature? Write dragon bios! Make a blog, or a thread for your challenge in the creative forums! Write short stories or paragraphs, or add to one big one adventure!

Trinkets: Do some art for your nuzlocke! Digital or traditional, use whatever medium feels best for you. Draw deaths. Draw dragons. Draw humanized versions of your dragons (if that's your sort of thing). Draw familiars and dragons together. It doesn't have to be that good or elaborate. If you make a nuzlocke thread, post your art there.

Obviously, you might not have time in your day to do something creative. If that's the case, don't worry about it. This challenge is meant to be fun and heartwrenching, not a chore.

Familiars: Buy the cheapest dragon in the auction house of a specific breed. Use a random number generator (between 1-14) to determine which breed you will get! (Optionally: attach the familiar to the new dragon.)

1. Fae
2. Guardian
3. Mirror
4. Pearlcatcher
5. Ridgeback
6. Tundra
7. Spiral
8. Imperial
9. Snapper
10. Wildclaw
11. Nocturne
12. Coatl
13. Skydancer
14. Bogsneak

Apparel: Breed two of your dragons. The dragons you pick are up to you. You can also change one of the genes on a dragon, or use a scatterscroll if you are rich and crazy.

Custom rule: If no dragons are able to breed or it doesn't fir into the story start counting apparel drops until it reaches 5 and buy a random dragon from the AH. After that the count resets.

Note: You must flip a coin for each hatchling once they hatch. If tails, the dragon is dead and you must exalt it. This is in keeping with the origional Nuzlocke thread's rule, because I really like it.

Starting out:
Using the method I detailed in the "familiar" possibility above, obtain a small number of dragons (I suggest 2 or 3). If they already have names, keep the name! If not, name them whatever you like. The challenge starts once all of the dragons, if they are hatchlings, grow into adulthood.

Alternatively, choose 2-3 existing dragons in your lair to participate. This has certain advantages (eliminates the need to wait for maturity and breeding cooldowns) but also some disadvantages (less random=less exciting).

You may want to "partition" your nuzlocke dragons away from your regular dragons so you don't get them mixed up.

Losing:
If your dragon count falls to zero you have a few options
1. Declare the challenge a "loss" and give up
2. Wait for Pinkerton to drop a familiar
3. Just say "welp" and buy another dragon from the AH without waiting for Pinkerton because you lack patience.

She didn't remember what happened or where she was only that this wasn't norrmal. She shouldn't be here, wherever "here" was. Over the rushing of her own blood she could hear muffled voices but couldn't make out what they were saying. Finally she heard footsteps coming closer, voices getting louder. They sounded...scared...angry. "Mo..ah...? Mora?" One of the voices called out to her, unmistakebly worried. She wanted to answer that she was here, that she was alive so she tried to get up, tried cry for help but her body felt as heavy as stone and no sound made it out of her throat. Eventually someone picked her up, claws digging into her sides. It hurt and the movements of her carrier didn't make it better either. Now she felt even sicker than before. Not able to sruggle out of the other dragon's grasp she ultimately gave up, almost glad to let the darkness take over once again and falling into a deep slumber. -------------------- Day 11: [item=Tarnished Steel Gorget] ---> Apparel Count: 4 ----------------------- Day 12: [item=Teardrop Citrine Tail Ring] ---> Wow Pinkerton! Since the apparel count hit 5 it's time for a new dragon I guess! Random number generator gave me a 10, which means another Wildclaw! Say hello to Dewberry :D I also did some writing, because why not? Mora woke from the sound of metal hitting metal, a loud, ringing clang that made her flinch. She jolted to her feet, immediately regretting it, the world around her wavering as if she was standing on the deck of a ship being thrown around in a storm. Pressing her forehead to the cool stone floor she waited until her senses calmed down. Carefully she lifted her head and took in her surroundings for the first time. She was in a cell. Damp, cool stone walls made up three sides of the room, dark green moss covering them like afluffy blanket. Water drippled from the ceiling, forming a puddle in a corner. The fourth side of the room however consisted of thick iron bars, the spaces between them so small not even a Fae could squeeze through them. On top of that they were covered in small, glowing runes, probably to keep the inmates from using magic. Mora knew this place, she had been here once or twice before to deliver things to the guards or to switch broken light bulbs. Why was she here now? Why a cell? She didn't understand what was going on and fear started to well up inside her. "What's going on...?", she murmured to herself. Taking a glance into the hallway she didn't see anyone she could ask about it either. The Mirror backed away from the bars, exhaling slowly, trying to calm herself down. It surely was a misunderstanding? She looked around, trying to find a clue on what happened to her but couldn't see anything helpful. And then her sight fell upon herself for the first time. Her heart stopped for a moment just to beat twice as fast afterwards when she noticed the red stains covering her whole body, her cloth soaked in what appeared to be...blood?! Her first reaction was to check her own body for wounds but there weren't any. Ther was no pain either. Which could mean only one thing. She wimpered and a soft sob escaped her lips. What did she do? ---------------- Day 13: [item=Violet Betta] - 30-40 matches ---> 30 battles with Ave, Ferrovax and Mora. No casualties, no special drops Day 14: [item=Ambush] ---> Tails again! Good. Day 15: [item=Scholar] ---> Pinkerton is trying really hard to kill someone. Buuut.....Tails! Day 16: [item=Bubbly Buddy] - Trinket ---> Did some art of Ave (that will never see daylight. I may have to destroy it xD) --------------------------- Day 17: [item=Bright Rogue Hood] ---> Apparel count: 1 Poor thing. Avenicci pressed his face against the iron bars, trying to get a better look at the green Mirror. She lay curled up in the only dry corner of her cell, sobbing quietly. She looks awful, the Spiral thought, sympathy stirring inside him. Her cloth were drenched in what smelled like blood but he could still make out the all too familiar crest stitched on the sleeves. This was exactly what he needed. If she worked here she probably knew a way out of this damned place! Jumping at the opportunity he cleared his throat. „First time in a cell, isn’t it?“ he asked bluntly, a playful grin on his lips. „W-what?“ The Mirror raised her head, giving him a bewildered look. „Oh, don’t look at me like that Green Girl, it breaks my heart seeing such a beautiful creature cry,“ He winked. A few seconds passed in which she just blankly stared at him, seemingly not sure what he wanted from her. Well, at least she stopped crying… He couldn’t stop himself from feeling a bit disappointed at her lack of reaction though. Feeling the need to fill the awkward silence Avenicci sighed and began to speak, this time a serious tone in his voice. „Alright, listen closely Green Girl. I need someone to guide me out of this place. This mansion is a freaking labyrinth! And judging by your…attire,“ he glanced at the Mirror’s torn clothes “ I assume you know every corner around here. So here’s the deal: I get you out of this cell and you get me out of this pompous hut. Preferably without making a fuss. Your freedom for mine, what do you say?“ His tail flicked around in excitement. „B-but..I didn’t do anything…I-I think.“ Her gaze briefly fell upon her bloody claws before she raised it again to look the Spiral right into the eyes. „I have friends here, they know me!It’s probably just a misunderstanding! I would never hurt anyone!“ she exclaimed, a desperate, almost pleading expression in her light blue eyes. Avenicci shook his head. „ Don’t fool yourself girl,“ His voice a soft murmur. „If anyone thinks you are innocent, whatever it is you’re accused of, why did no one come to get you out of this damp hole yet?Why are there no visitors?“ „Because… they are probably not allowed to…“ She stopped there, biting her lip, claws nervously scratching at the grey stone floor, seemingly conflicted with the reality and what she wanted to believe. After what felt like an eternity to the Spiral she nodded and rose to her feet, wings hanging limp from her shoulders. „Maybe you’re right…If no one can visit me to tell me what’s going on I’ll have to visit them!“ She carefully approached the the iron door now standing only a few feet away from Avenicci. „ Alright, get me out of here…uhm…“ She blinked at him, waiting for an answer. „The name’s Avenicci.“ He grinned nonchalantly, all seriousness gone in an instand. With a swift movement of his tail he pulled a lockpick out of his many pockets, waving it in front of her eyes. „ Give me just a few seconds an you’ll be as free as a bird.“ ---------------------- Day 18: [item=Fractured Tusk] - Material ---> Updated Dewberry's lore Day 19: [item=Fire Ant] - 20-30 matches ---> Ave, Ferrovax and Mora got picked, they did 25 battles and all reached level 5, Avenicci finally has aid now so he can heal, no special drops ---------------- Day 20: [item=Birch Twigs] - Material Navigating the castle's corridors proofed to be more difficult than Avenicci had thought. On top of its maze-like structure there were guards everywhere, the two dragons had to take long detours to avoid them a few times. Luckily Moarah, who had introduced herself in the meantime, knew every corner and every hallway of this place. Apparently she had worked here since her childhood. Just as he had thought when he found her. What he hadn't anticipated was that she even remembered most of the guards' patrolling routes and times of shift changes. Things could be far worse. No one seemed to have noticed the Mirror's disappearance yet, but it wouldn't stay that way for sure. If they couldn't get out soon they would be in real trouble. Moarah was silent the whole time and Avenicci wasn't sure if this was her normal behaviour or if he should be worried. He decided it would probably be best not to think about it too much, at least for now. She seemed determined enough to find one of her "friends" to get some answers out of them. The Spiral on the other hand hoped they wouldn't find anyone, he didn't like the thought of attracting any form of attention. "Oof!" Lost in thought Avenicci hadn't noticed Mora had suddenly stopped and bumped into her head-on. "Hey, why did you stop?" he whispered, rubbing his snout. She turned, a claw at her lips, signaling him to be quiet. She pointed at a half opened wooden door. The material was dark and scarred and made the Spiral realize how old the castle must really be. They carefully approached it it and took a quick glance inside just to make sure they remained undetected. Mora froze. "What are you doing!? Come on Green Girl, they'll see us!" Avenicci pulled on the Mirror's wing, letting out a frustrated sigh as she didn't react. "Alma?" Mora fully opened the door. A green Nocturne stood behind it, a shocked expression on her face. The basket she held fell down, littering the floor with shiny red apples. "It IS you! Oh Alma, you can't believe how glad I am to see you!" The Spiral gave her a surprised look, eyebrows raised as Mora darted into the room, quickly closing the distance between her and the Nocturne. With a hopeful smile she reached out for one of the Nocturne's claws. She flinched at the touch and took a few steps back. "M-Mora? What are you doing here? S-shouldn't you be..." she took another step back, eyes now full of panic. "What's wrong? It's me, Mora. Your best friend..." Looking the Mirror up and down Alma's eyes grew even wider as she seemed to realize what the stains on her clothes must be. "Moarah...Is that blood!? So...it's true?" She now almost cowered, wings out spread before her as if to shield herself from an attack. Avenicci didn't like how this played out. This felt wrong, dangerous even, and his gut feeling rarely fooled him. He silently positioned himself close to the exit. If things went badly he wanted his escape route to be as close as possible. "I don't know, I can't remember. Please Alma, tell me what has happened!" "You don't REMEMBER?" She gave Mora a disbelieving look and a hysterical laugh escaped her lips. " Mora, you killed her! You killed the Queen!" Avenicci whistled which earned him a venemous glare from the Nocturne. "No! No, no, no! I would never..." She swallowed hard. "Alma, please!" She reached out for the Nocturne once more but jumped back as Alma hissed at her. "Don't touch me!" And with that, she screamed for the guards. ------------------ Day 21: [item=Pretty Pink Head Bow] ---> Apparel count: 2 ----------------- Day 22: [item=Dried Flowers] - Material It had been a hot day. The desert wind was warm and dry and the sun merciless, no clouds to give the desert's inhabitants even a tiny bit of protection. But now that the sun was about to set, the temperatures slowly began to fall. Ferrovax gave a sigh of relief. She still wasn't completely accustomed to the weather up here in the north. At home the sun had always been a welcomed sight, nature's warm embrace in the otherwise cold land of ice and snow. She stretched her wings and stifled a yawn. Standing around the whole day, looking intimidating and watchful was more exhausting than any other job she had taken before. Just a few more minutes though and her shift would be over and she could finally get some rest. The sound of alarmingly loud bells brought her back to reality, interrupting the pleasant daydream of a large mug filled with the tastiest ale around after work. The alarm...! She darted off. It didn't take her long to reach the barracks. The inside was a mess. There were dragons everywhere, stumbling over one another, some still in their nightgowns trying to put on their armour. Must have been taken by surprise by that alarm. she thought, letting her gaze wander through the crowd. She spotted a familiar figure and made her way over, winding her way through her comrades and trying to not step on anyone's tail. Captain Brottol stood in the middle of the crowd, barking commands. Lightning bristled off her blue hide, zapping everyone nearby she deemed too slow. The elderly Snapper turned to Ferrovax when she noticed her approaching, looking her up and down. "At least one of you isn't a complete failure," She grunted, her whole attention now on the Wildclaw. "Your orders, Sir?" Ferrovax straightened. "Head to the western wing. Apparently a prisoner escaped and I want them back! A green Mirror, the one that killed Her Majesty. A servant named Almunda saw her wandering around." Her eyes narrowed and a deep growl made it out of the Snapper's throat. "Wandering around! Just like that!" She spitted out. " Whoever let that criminal escape gets his pay cut short for at least a hundred years!" She stamped one of her massive feet. "Now go!" She yelled, eyes full of fury. "Yes Sir!" Prologue

The world was a swirling mess of darkness and shades of red, too bright to look at.

I also did some writing, because why not?

Poor thing.

„If anyone thinks you are innocent, whatever it is you’re accused of, why did no one come to get you out of this damp hole yet?Why are there no visitors?“

„Because… they are probably not allowed to…“ She stopped there, biting her lip, claws nervously scratching at the grey stone floor, seemingly conflicted with the reality and what she wanted to believe.

„ Give me just a few seconds an you’ll be as free as a bird.“

Day 20:
Birch Twigs - Material

Navigating the castle's corridors proofed to be more difficult than Avenicci had thought.

Your best friend..."

Looking the Mirror up and down Alma's eyes grew even wider as she seemed to realize what the stains on her clothes must be.

Please Alma, tell me what has happened!"

"You don't REMEMBER?" She gave Mora a disbelieving look and a hysterical laugh escaped her lips.

Day 22:
Dried Flowers - Material

It had been a hot day.

" Whoever let that criminal escape gets his pay cut short for at least a hundred years!"

She stamped one of her massive feet. "Now go!" She yelled, eyes full of fury.

"Yes Sir!" Ferrovax quickly made her way out of the barracks, glad she wouldn't be near the captain when the Snapper decided it was time to search for a scapegoat eventually .

---------------- Day 28 [item=Grey Clay] - Material ---------------------- In hindsight, Moarah wasn't really sure how they made it out of the castle in the first place. Everything that had happened after their encounter with Almunda felt like a dream to her. The day's events had caught up to her. She remembered Avenicci pulling and pushing her through corridors, wide halls and small, stuffed rooms, hissing curses through grittet teeth. She remembered being chased. A dark silhouette of a Wildclaw. Bared fangs. A pair of icy blue eyes. The sound of shattering glass and then the night sky, thousands of tiny blinking lights. Avenicci later told her that they had escaped by a hair's breadth. After meeting a dead end eventually they had no other choice but to jump out of one of the broad castle windows, right into the arms of a dozen guards positioned on the walls, aiming their bows and spells at them. Luckily, sun had already set and except for a few torches' light they were surrounded by darkness. Thanks to this most missiles completely missed their targets, leaving the two dragons only with a few grazes. Painful but not deadly. They disappeared into the night and after an hour of swift flight even the most persistant guards gave up the chase, weighed down by their heavy armour. The two eventually landed near a lone rock, the only one big enough in the surrounding area to give them at least a bit of protection against curious eyes. The darkness of the night wouldn't protect them forever. It was dangerous, but exhausted as they were and with nowhere else to go they had no other choice than to rest in the open. Avenicci fell asleep as soon as he laid down, too tired to expect their wounds or curl up properly. Mora couldn't. The memories of what happened in the last hours haunted her. Even now she felt a sharp, painful sting in her heart when thinking about Almunda. They had been friends ever since they started working together. They had shared a room, had shared all their secrets with each other. And still...The fear in her eyes when Mora had approached her and her desperate scream for help. It had broken Mora's heart and the pieces of what was left of it now bore deeper into her chest with every heartbeat. Tears welled up in her eyes and flowed down her face as the realization what all of this meant for her eventually struck. There was no home to return to and no clan would take her in. No one wanted a criminal, not even one that couldn't remember committing a crime. Even the Spiral would leave as soon as he woke up. She was alone.
