TOPIC | [OPEN WIP] The Dragonfather Project
1 2 3
THE DRAGONFATHER

In Sornieth, two forces have been locked in battle for decades. Four different gangs fight for control of Sornieth, while the Sornieth International Investigation Services (SIIS) fights against them. Which side will your dragons choose to align themselves with? And which side will win control of Sornieth? Only time will tell.

This is an open/shared lore project that focuses around the idea of mobs/gangs in Sornieth, and an international police force that fights against them. There are no pre-requirements to join this. You just have to be willing to participate! There are no deadlines, time limits, or activity requirements. Do everything at your own pace. There will be weekly missions in which you can earn prizes, but they are not mandatory. Please read everything in this thread, as it’s all important to make note of if you want to join this project! There is no member limit for now, and we are always accepting.

Background Information

The Gangs

Each Gang has their own complicated history, however, they all came from the same root. Disillusioned by lack of opportunities in their area, a group of dragons from all flights joined together to form the Dragonfathers. While at first they were legitimate, they soon turned to crime to make a life in Sornieth. They quickly grew in rank and also in importance in Sornieth, slowly getting larger and more powerful. However, this along with the rise of police forces in Sornieth caused tension within the Dragonfathers, and eventually they splintered into four smaller groups: the Blood-Fang family, the Corvids, the Storm Dwellers, and the Coalition of the Sun. Each Gang now runs differently and has their own sets of rules, ranks, and more. However, they are all united in one idea: the Sornieth International Investigation Services are a plague upon them and need to be broken down.

Sornieth International Investigation Services

Founded after the Dragonfathers began to grow in influence and criminal activity, SIIS served at first as a scattered police force across Sornieth, trying to stop the Dragonfathers when they committed crimes. As time went on, the SIIS started to come together to not only solve crimes when they were committed, but to prevent future crimes from happening. With this new goal in mind, the unified under the same name and banner and began working to eradicate the four new splinter gangs that had formed from the original Dragonfathers. However, not all of them have good intentions. Some SIIS members work alongside the Gangs. Others still wish to bring them down, but with increasingly brutal methods. And then, there’s rumors of a splinter group inside of the SIIS… no one knows where this will end.

The Gangs

Blood-Fang Family
The oldest of the four splinter groups, the Blood-Fang Family retains most of the traditions of the Dragonfathers, including having the title of Father, Mother, or simply Parent for the leader of the gang. They follow a strict set of rules, and are bound by a code of honor. Commonly consists of Guardians, Imperials, Skydancers, and Snappers, as well as dragons born to the elements of Nature, Ice, and Earth. Other types of dragons are allowed to join, but dragons of those breeds and birth elements are more likely to occupy high ranks. Along with being the oldest splinter group, they are the largest, and have the most outposts in each elemental territory.

Ranks in the Blood-Fang Family and its outposts go as follows:
Father/Mother/Parent - leader
Blood Heir - next leader
Consort - helps the leader and next leader
Warrior - high-level fighter
Tenderpaw - low-level fighter
Snoop - high-level spy
Digger - low-level spy
Made Dragon - high-level grunt, occupies any job other than fighter or spy
Street Whelp - low-level grunt, occupies any job other than fighter or spy

Corvids

Known for their secretive and sneaky nature, not much is known about the elusive Corvids. Their hierarchy is less strict, and they have only a few rules. They mainly work in the shadows, unseen and unheard. When they do strike, they do so with deadly efficiency. Commonly consists of Bogsneaks, Mirrors, Nocturnes, and Wildclaws, as well as dragons born to the elements of Shadow, Plague, and Fire. They tend to be wary of dragons born to other elements, however as long as you are born to Shadow, Plague, or Fire, they care little about your breed. While they are the smallest of the splinter groups, they are estimated to have the most control of local governments where they are stationed.

Storm Dwellers

Definitely the Spartans of the Gangs, the Storm Dwellers pride themselves on their strength and physical prowess. Intelligence means little to them if you can’t back it up with muscle. They generally look to add Guardians, Imperials, Ridgebacks, and Tundras to their ranks, along with qualifying Beastclans. Dragons born of Wind, Lightning, and of course Beastclans are desired. As long as you are strong, however, they care not for anything else. They are the second largest of the splinter groups, and are known for being the most ruthless.

Coalition of the Sun

The youngest and second-smallest of the splinter gangs, the Coalition of the Sun, otherwise known as the CotS, is a bit of an outlier within the gangs. They follow a long list of laws, and while they are technically open to all dragons, they prefer the Fae, Spiral, Pearlcatcher, and Coatl breeds, and those dragons born in the elements of Light, Arcane, and Water. Eye types determine where your standing is, and their standings are different from the other groups. Primal-eyed dragons are, of course, on top, followed closely by other rare eye types. It is difficult to move into other groups if you do not change your eye type.

Sornieth International Investigation Services

Though there are no restrictions on who can or cannot be a part of the SIIS, the only thing to note is that being of a certain rank does restrict what one is able to do. As one ranks up, more options and missions will become available, as well as daily tasks. Each rank is only able to do certain things, so choose wisely when deciding. For example, while a street cop can go on missions, they cannot recruit SIIS members or switch a dragon from the gangs to the SIIS.

Ranks in the SIIS and its outposts go as follows:
Director - the director of the SIIS, makes all decisions of the outpost, can complete anything other members can do
Assistant Director - assists the director of the SIIS, can complete anything other members can do
Private Investigator - investigates on a case by case basis. Is allowed to go on missions and complete daily tasks with a PI label, can convince a gang dragon to switch from the gangs to the SIIS once every two weeks
Street Cop - keeps the peace on the streets. Is allowed to go on missions and complete daily tasks with a SC label, cannot convince a gang dragon to switch from the gangs to the SIIS, however they can imprison up to 5 gang members a week
Field Agent - works out in the fields day to day. Is allowed to go on missions and complete daily tasks with a FA label, can convince a gang dragon to switch from the gangs to the SIIS once a week and can imprison up to 2 gang members a week
District Attorney - responsible for pressing charges against criminals. Cannot go on missions but can complete daily tasks with a DA label, can convince a gang dragon to switch from the gangs to the SIIS twice a week but cannot imprison gang members

For a complete list of all SIIS outposts, click here.

Note: you may have one SIIS outpost per flight in your Clan, and each outpost may only have one director and one assistant director. The other roles have unlimited spots within your Clan.
