Though the Icefield is known for its frigid inhospitality, Novus staff members consist of dragons appropriately equipped and well trained for dealing with the harsh environment. While the clan is predominantly Ice Flight as a result, Novus Academy retains a neutral standing on alignments and allow for dragons of all flights to attend. The Headmaster proudly encourages students to freely celebrate any and all holiday festivals of their home clans.[/columns] [columns] [b]Novus Library[/b] acts as the pillar of the school, carved out to fit within the very center of Nexus Mountain. It boasts several floors of reading materials ranging from academic scrolls to adventurous fiction novels. Headmaster Gias continues to add to the vast collection, whether by means of travel and merchants or by writing them himself. It is maintained by the school's resident Cocoa Dragons, who enjoy providing visitors with warm drinks and sweet treats. Novus Academy advances its students on a point system, the accumulation of which eventually leads them to a higher level of education. There are no required uniforms, but each student and their current academic achievement can be identified by the presence of a simple necklace or band of metal primarily located on the neck, wing, or legs of a student. These "insignia" are only required of students and faculty while on school grounds during class hours.

New students or graduated primary hatchlings that are old enough to begin their academic journey will begin with a copper apparel and work their way up.

Pearl-colored apparel is reserved for teachers and professors so that they may be easily identified by students.
