Inside is The DreamShard Clan. It's nickname is The Orphan Clan, alluding to the fact that many of their members lost their parents in one way or another. The DreamShard Clan, despite having roles for each of the members, is more like a family. Everyone sees The Patriarch and Matriarch as the mom and dad of the clan. Clan Culture
Childrearing-For the first few days of a hatchling' life, Morbid and Koi, the caretakers, take care of the hatchlings, with frequent visits from their parents. Hatchlinghood is protected extensively in the clan. This is because many of it's members have suffered trauma of all kinds.
When a hatchling becomes older, Sunkiss, the teacher, begins giving lessons to the hatchlings. They learn many important skills, such as magic and forging, as well as history, math, literature, and science. Than the hatchling, in it's adolescence, chooses it's career path. Most choose to help the clan in their own unique way, but a select few choose the path of an adult. Nobody chooses for the hatchling, as they are seen as just as important as the adults.
Joining the clan- The policy on joining The DreamShard Clans rather loose. Gulie gives them a background check if they are adults requesting to join the clan. However, if a hatchling tries to join the clan, than they are universally accepted. Kubate keeps record of the new member, also giving them a name if they have none.
Crime- Of course, if The DreamShard Clan simply forgave everybody, they'd fall apart. Instead, they have laws. They don't have a fully working prison, but they do have a jailcell. Punishments are often delt by Gulie and her guard, and which punishments are used is determined by The DreamLaw.
Death- When a dragon passes away, a elaborate ceremony takes place. It begins by walking to The StatueYard, where a corpse is quickly preserved by earth magic into a stone statue, which is then covered in the dead person's scent so the Tundras remember who the person was. Than, a elaborate feast takes place with much crying and sad music.
