Andromeda is a very naïve dragon. Now, don't take this to mean she's stupid, because she's actually quite clever. But she's very inexperienced in the way the world works and tends to not realize the consequences of some impulsive decisions she makes, like the time she spent ten thousand treasure getting herself a Blackwing Croaker, a familiar she'd wanted for quite some time, only to later learn that they flew wild in a swamp a few miles away, easy to obtain without spending her hard-earned treasure.
Background
Under the shroud of a half-moon, an iridescent lavender dragon was hatched out of a clutch, a shimmering treasure among her hatchmates. She was slow to talk, slow to learn, but it was clear there was a lot of life in this little dragon. When she finally figured out how to use that tongue of hers, it was getting her to stop that was the hard part. It turned out, she hadn't been slow because she was dim, but because she'd never felt like talking, never felt like mirroring what she was taught. Her mind was too busy working on other things to worry about silly tasks as repeating the names of objects or the right way to capture a duskrat with her teeth.
Turns out, magic worked just as well as teeth did.
As she grew up, Andromeda became solitary because others saw her as odd. A wildclaw that preferred using magic to those wonderful teeth and claws she was gifted with? How absurd. This, of course, made her lonely. So she'd often go and try to make friends and try a little too hard, often making a fool of herself and getting laughed at instead. So she set about saving to buy a familiar instead, one that wouldn't laugh at her and would listen to her stories. And wouldn't you know, a traveler happened to wander through the clan carrying many creatures for sale, and she happened to fall in love with a croaker he had.
Naturally, that earned her laughs too. Blackwing Croakers, as it turned out, were a common creature and the traveler had scammed her. She'd learned from that experience, but she wasn't going to just give away a creature she'd promised a home and a place at her side. So the Croaker, whom she'd named Hamlet, became her partner. Today, she works on her magic spells, trying to create something that would impress her clan and make them accept her for the wonderful, quirky dragon that she is.
