It wasn’t too long after they got him into bed that Corvo poked his head in. “Do I even want to know what’s going on? I heard some weird noises and I - wait...is that FARON?!?” Corvo said, looking equal parts confused and alarmed. Adrian made a “shh” noise and motion, but the damage from Corvo’s shrill voice had been done. Faron’s eyes fluttered open, and his face was twisted in pain. “Nggh.. wha..what happened?” he croaked out. Faron took a breath and winced. Sabin stood up and walked over to Faron’s bedside. The doctor started pressing on Faron’s chest in various places. With a few presses Faron screamed out in pain. “You’ve got some broken ribs, you’ll need to stay in bed for the time being,” Sabin said, sounding relatively bored. Adrian looked down at the floor and took a deep breath before saying “Please try and rest now,” Faron shook his head in protest. Why did his head feel so odd? His vision and mind alike were blurry. He was starting to remember the events of earlier, though it was hardly coherent. Faron tried to sit up,despite the pain. It was then he noticed that his body looked very different now than it did before. Faron was still too out of it for reality to hit him. “You really need to lay down now, Master Faron, your body needs rest,” Adrian said as he gently pushed Faron back in bed. This time Faron didn’t try and protest, and fell asleep rather quickly. “Should he be this out of it?” Adrian asked quietly. Sabin scoffed. “Of course he should be, breed changes are never easy on a body under normal circumstances,” he said as he turned to leave the room. Corvo quickly followed suit and muttered an “Eeesh” as he left the room. Adrian stayed in the room, watching over Faron as he slept, praying for his swift recovery. “Adrian, fetch me a mirror,” Faron said as he woke up again, a few hours later. The butler frowned. “Sir, I really don’t think it would be wise -” he started to say but was cut off by Faron. “That’s an order,” Faron was more clear headed now, and the memories were coming back to him. Adrian came back with a mirror, and gave it to Faron with a disgruntled face. “Well, that’d explain a lot,” Faron muttered. He wasn’t sure exactly sure how it happened, but he was a wildclaw now. “You’re awfully calm about this, Sir,” Adrian said as he took the mirror back from Faron, who said “I’m more concerned about my son, where is he?” “With all due respect, he just tried to kill you. Perhaps it’d be better to wait until you’ve recouped to see him?” Adrian said with a frown. “No, he doesn’t need to stew over this any longer. Bring him to me or else I’ll find him myself,” Faron said gruffly. They both knew he would be stubborn enough to try and track Lanayru down, so Adrian agreed to his request and hurried off to locate him. Lanayru was in the library, to the shock of no one. However this time he’d erected a barrier in the entryway that made it impossible for any to enter. He was alone with his books now, his beautiful books that would never betray his trust and lie to him, and nothing would convince him to leave them. Lanayru wasn’t actually reading anything, however when Adrian attempted to enter the room, but was staring off at nothing. Lanayru spun around with wild eyes when he heard the butler try to enter the library. “Your father wishes to see you,” Adrian said calmly. “I don’t have a father!” Lanayru spat with malice, and some books flew off the shelf once more. “He can keel over as far as I care! I want nothing to do with lying scum like him!” the skydancer roared at Adrian who was looking rather alarmed. “You’re no better than he is!” Lanayru said furiously as the nocturne turned around and left, ignoring the rambling and insults the skydancer was screaming. @Phenix

Well, he's got a great mix going of:
 • Teenage angst
 • Realizing a lot of things all at once that's hard to take (Adrian's a vampire, he's adopted, Faron's been keeping him in the dark and he's realized that Faron is a real person who makes mistakes and that's not an easy thing to do if you've put someone on a pedestal like Lan has)
 • Very unstable magic that he's not really in control of

Faron frowned, wether it from the nocturne’s words or from pain was unclear. He listened as the butler recounted his meeting with Lanayru intently and with great concern. “...Gods,” Faron muttered a moment or so after Adrian finished speaking. If Faron was hurting, it wasn’t from his broken ribs and sudden breed change, but from a broken heart. What if he was a better father? Would Lanayru be feeling this way? “Adrian.. Help me up,” Faron said with determination. “But Sabin said n-” Adrian started to say before being interrupted by Faron “I don’t give a damn about what he said, I’m going to see my son even if I have to crawl there myself!” Adrian sighed in resignation as he helped Faron up out of bed. If it were any other dragon he would have refused to help him out of bed, but they both knew Faron was stubborn enough to try and go to the library without assistance. Slowly but surely, the pair made it to the library. Faron was breathing heavily, it was very clear that even the short walk sapped him of his strength. Lanayru was turned away from the door, and just like before, was staring at nothing. “I want you to know I’m not mad at you,” Faron called out by the doorway. Lanayru didn’t turn around this time, but instead he stayed put, the only indication he heard Faron was him shaking with rage. “I came to apologize… I should have been a better father to you, but I was so focused on trying to protect you that I was blinded to the fact I was hurting you. I’m so sorry, Lan, I really am,” Faron said, his voice cracking ,and on the verge of tears. Lanayru sat still for a moment, listening to Faron’s words. “Lies! All lies!” he spat with narrowed eyes. He lashed out his tail, and in his fury, sent a distant bookshelf crashing to the ground with a loud bang. “You only say that because of what I’ve done to you! If things were different you wouldn’t care!” Lanayru screeched, still refusing to look at Faron, who was now crying. “...If things were different I wouldn’t have realised you felt this way, and I’m sorry it came to this for me to open my eyes. I won’t ask for forgiveness, I don’t deserve it, but I hope one day we can move past this,” Faron said solemnly, but Lanayru just huffed in reply. After waiting several minutes to see if he was going to say anything in silence, Faron turned to Adrian and asked for help getting back into his bed. The butler nodded and helped him walk back to his bedroom. Exhausted both mentally and physically, it didn’t take long for Faron to fall into an uneasy sleep. His dreams offered no relief, however, as he had yet another nightmare. This time was different though, for instead of reliving his parents deaths or seeing the broken Kingdom;he dreamt about his son ,and of all the things he could have done differently in raising him. Seeing his son drained him more than he’d like to admit; and his thoughts, both awake and asleep, were on getting his strength back. All things considering, Faron was recovering quickly from his injuries, and it wouldn’t be long before he’d be able to back to his usual routine. He’d feel significantly less anxious once he’d be able to fight. Being stuck in bed made him feel incredibly vulnerable, a feeling Faron wasn’t sure if he could ever be accustomed to. Adrian poked his head in Faron’s room. “Oh good, you’re awake,” he said as he walked into the room carrying a rather large parcel. “The armor you sent for has arrived, shall I set it over here, Master Faron?” he said as he gestured to a nearby corner. Faron blinked for a moment before replying in a rather groggy manner “Yeah that’s fine, and I told you not to be so formal with me! Gods, it’s very awkward, you know,” Adrian gently set the box down in the corner and turned to face Faron, who was now sitting up in bed. “My apologies, that’s a habit I’ve had for a very long time. Is there anything I can do for you?” Faron shook his head. He was doing much better now, and wasn’t fond of being waited on like he’d been over the past few days. Faron was anxious to try on this new set of armor, as he had requested it to be a perfect replica of his old armor - just sized to fit him now. Faron waited until his butler left the room to tear into the box, he didn’t want to hear of “You need to be in bed and rest,” today. It wasn’t easy putting on the suit of armor with his injuries, nor was Faron used to his new body; but he was able to dress himself. Pleased with the way it fit, Faron clanked down the hall in his new armor. Faron didn’t make it very far, however, because Adrian was standing in the middle of the hallway, looking especially cross. “...And just what do you think you’re doing?!?” the nocturne huffed with crossed arms. Faron stopped dead in his tracks. “I was just going for a walk, is that a problem?” the wildclaw said, slightly irritated. Adrian sighed and said “I was under the impression that Lenore was the most stubborn dragon to roam these woods, but I’m clearly mistaken. You don’t need to be up wandering around in a full suit of armor! Get that armor off and get back in bed at once!” Faron scoffed. “What, are you going to carry me back there? I hardly thin- Hey, what are you doing!?! Put me down!” he whined as he was effortlessly lifted up by his butler and carried down the hall. “I hate to interrupt whatever…this is, but you two haven’t seen Mari, have you?” Corvo said, sounding upset. Both Faron and Adrian replied with a “No, why?” and Corvo frowned. “I can’t find her anywhere!” [sub]

It was similar to the magic that Lanayru used to pick her up with once, and it was very clear that she wasn’t in her bed anymore. She could smell the unmistakable scent of old books, there was no doubt in Mari’s mind that she was in the library...but how did she get here? “Lan..?” Marilyn squeaked with fear as she remembered what her father had told her about the past few days. She couldn’t - no, wouldn’t believe Lan would do or say the things he apparently did; yet she was scared. Corvo had never lied to her, after all. “...You sound scared,” Lanayru said in an unreadable tone from a few feet behind Marilyn. If Mari didn’t know better, she’d assumed that the dragon nearby was a complete stranger. Lan’s aura was completely different: he felt as if his heart had been enclosed in ice, and that his calm could give way into fury at any moment. Mari shivered as she felt him slowly come closer, with each step she felt more overwhelmed with fear. She remembered how Lan would talk about his father, about how much he admired and wanted to be like him. If he attacked Faron like she was told, what would stop Lan from attacking her? Mari certainly wasn’t as strong as Faron is, anything Lan would do to her would certainly be the end of her. “W-Why did you do it? I don’t understand!” Marilyn said, her voice cracking with tears. If she was about to die, she wanted to know the truth first. “You’re blind, so I can accept your ignorance in the matter - but ever since I began to do magic…Faron never looked at me the same way. I saw the love vanish from his eyes, anytime he looked at me he scowled! We’re not even related, and he’s done nothing but spew lies and keep secrets!” Lanayru spat with a malice that made Mari’s blood run cold. This wasn’t her lifelong friend and brother! Her father was right, he’d changed past the point of recognition; and it chilled Marilyn to the bone. Marilyn couldn’t see Lanayru’s wild and furious eyes, or any of his other erratic and out of place mannerisms that indicated that he was out of his mind; and so she still clung to the hope he could be reasoned with. “Why did you bring me here?” she asked, doing her best not to sound as scared as she was. “I’m saving you from all of the liars here, ah, but how do I know you can be trusted either? Perhaps you’re just another pathetic excuse of a dragon too!” Lanayru said with a sickening cackle. Marilyn shivered as she felt herself being picked up by his magic. This was the end, she was going to die at the hands of her brother and closest friend. She’d never be able to say her goodbyes, and her heart broke at the thought of how her death would shatter the family. “Lan, please stop! This isn’t you!” Marilyn cried out as tears rolled down her face. “Oh don’t worry. I’ll make this quick and it’ll all be over soon… It’ll be a more merciful death than lying scum like you deserve!” “Your quarrel is with me, let her go!” Faron roared as he ran to the library doors, sword drawn. Lanayru laughed as he dissipated the barrier he erected in the doorway and Faron came barreling into the trashed library, tripping over books and knocked over shelves. They both knew that Faron posed no threat to Lanayru, he was still recovering from his injuries and hadn’t gotten the chance to get accustomed to his new body. Lanayru smiled as he watched Faron struggle to even get near him, finishing him off would almost be too easy, but he held himself back. Seeing the glimmer of hope in the wildclaw’s eyes made the skydancer laugh. He’d relish crushing that hope in his father’s eyes, then he’d kill him. Yes, the world would be better off without lying scum that loves to play the hero; and then Lan could go back to his beautiful books, they’d never betray his trust like Faron did.

I’ll make this quick and it’ll all be over soon… It’ll be a more merciful death than lying scum like you deserve!”

Your quarrel is with me, let her go!” Faron roared as he ran to the library doors, sword drawn.

Every fiber in his body screamed at Faron to stop fighting, but too much was at stake for him to turn around and give up. He remembered his vows that he’d protect the innocent until his final breath - no matter what, with a heavy heart. Faron always assumed that if he died in the battlefield, he’d go down fighting a being that was so purely evil that he would be able to strike them down without mercy, but his own son..? That was another matter entirely. Faron looked over at Marilyn, who was back on the ground now, and felt relief when he saw that she was breathing. As much as he wanted to rush to her aid, he knew he’d not be able to safely escort her out, so he did the only thing he could do - he charged at Lanayru hoping to distract him long enough so that someone else could take Marilyn to safety. Lanayru laughed as he pelted Faron with an assortment of books, furniture and magical blasts. Despite Faron’s best efforts, more of the attacks were hitting him than not. “Please stop this! I don’t want to hurt you!” Faron pleaded with his son, but his cries fell on deaf ears. “Haven’t you done enough damage as it is?!?” Lanayru spat as he sent a chair flying towards his father, the latter barely avoided the impact as he quickly rolled out of the way. “I’ve screwed up, I should have never tried to keep you in the dark; but for the love of the Eleven that’s no reason to try and kill me, or Marilyn!” Faron cried as he avoided another attack. He looked into his son’s eyes and saw nothing but madness and hatred reflected back at him. “You leave me no choice then... Stand down now, or I’ll bring you to justice myself!” Faron roared at the skydancer. Lanayru laughed manically and spat “I’d like to see you try,” He knew as well as Faron did that Faron was in no fit shape to fight anything, let alone Lanayru at this level of power. In the skydancer’s mind, the battle was over before it even began, and he laughed again. However Faron still was breathing, and he wasn’t going down without a fight. Faron saw an opening, it was clear that Lanayru was making careless mistakes in his arrogance. The wildclaw lept at his son, sword drawn, and slashed him just above the eye. Blinded by his own blood, Lanayru tried to teleport away, but Faron had the mage pinned down to the floor. Finally exhausted, Lanayru tried swatting at Faron, but the skydancer was never all that physically strong, and only succeeded in tiring himself out. “When will you tire of playing the hero…?” Lanayru spat before the blood loss and exhaustion knocked him unconscious a moment later. Faron, though hardly able to walk himself now, gently picked Lanayru and carried him back to his son’s bedroom. Now Faron was fighting again, but this time he was fighting back his tears. Where did they go so wrong? Faron had Sabin come and tend to Lanayru’s wounds while he was still unconscious. When it was clear he’d be left with a scar from where Faron cut him, Faron couldn’t hold back his tears any longer. He’d never wanted to hurt his son, and yet he somehow managed to hurt Lanayru more than he could ever imagine. Exhausted in every possible way, Faron fell asleep beside his son, and to an outsider looking in, the two would have almost looked at peace.
