If ever a man was a dark cloud carrying the edge of rain, Ashbourne is just so. Tall and slender; a slip of sapling shadow, skeletal and seeming frail, as if a breath of wind might break him, but as a young tree he is more supple then he seems. His skin is deathly pale, as if woken from a grave, with hardly a blemish or dark hair, ethereal and almost unnatural, with a gaunt face; high sunken cheekbones, thin dark lips [pointed dramatic bow shape], a small sharp nose and haunting eyes of brilliant frosty blue, framed with long dark lashes and permanent heavy bruised bags, as if perpetually tired. His hair is raven-black, whispy and almost curling and usually greasy, stands often clinging to the side of his face, cut just above his shoulders with a fringe cut tapering into the rest. His bony white hands extend into elegant yet unnerving fingers, too long, too keen, fluttering impatiently or anxiously or eagerly. While faint and gloomy in presence he is surprisingly fast, like a spider one has not quite noticed until it scurries from your gaze, lurking patiently, creeping softly.
His garments are of shades of grey and deep blues - they are of fine origin, yet old and tattered. He wears under-robes of grey with dark borders embroidered with silver stars, a long waistcoat of deep blue velvet with soft runic pattern and a battered old overcoat of darker grey with thin borders of blue dotted with glinting crystals - many have fallen out - and a hood lined with beautiful grey rabbit fur. His pouch belt is black with a silver spider belt buckle, upon which on his left side his spell book (a grimoire of dark grey and silver), and the right pockets and a money pouch, a vial of glowing violet liquid, a scroll and black quill and three holders for his little throwing darts. He carries in one hand a staff of dark walnut wood carved into a gentle spiral tipped with a smokey quartz crystal roughly the length of his hand, and two rook feathers attached by thin silver thread hanging loosely catching the breeze. A great white-beaked rook sits on the same shoulder, intelligence gleaming from its eyes.
In one ear is a silver crescent moon stud, in the right dangles by two thin chains one short and one long two teardrops of amethyst. Around his neck is a chain of silver with a pendant of a spider. On his left wrist he wears a solid thin silver bracelet encrusted with a dark amethyst forming into an eye.
[it would be cool if he looked like he was casting a spell, he does divination-type magic usually but also icey-frosty cold magic so something that looked cold and wintery and maybe bright blue would be awesome]
