Astrids Lore: Astrid never much cared because her blood was diluted. She knew what it was like to be frowned down upon and how the others don't look at her quite the same way. She didnt care about that for herself. But she cared about it for her children. She met Valerian as a hatchling upon the ice floes, the ship she was on was being guided by Ase and Astrid had been taken in by the elder female. Having been stranded, Valerian was taken under the matriarchs wing as well and he formed a strong bond with Astrid.

Astrid told Val of her struggles, of growing up under the harsh tutelage of her foster mother and he vowed not to let that happen to their children. They settled within the realm of the Tidelord and shortly after they had a single precious egg, their firstborn, their long-awaited son. And he was beautiful, Astrid was immediately smitten with the hatchling. He was as dark as the sea during a storm and Astrid named him Tore.

Her boy grew, he was an only child, and she pushed him, even allowing her foster mother to further his education -- as a daughter of Ragnar and Lorelai she was best able to help him.

He flourished and grew and took a mate for a time to give Astrid her first grandchildren. She too loved them but they were unpure, like her, and she secretly despised it. She had worked hard to bring purity to their bloodline and her sons first lover had proven to be a failure. The boy, her grandson, captured her eye. He was like her, while his sister was more like Tore.

Astrid's mate, Valerian chose to return to the Tidelord shortly after their second clutch of eggs -- all daughters, all beautiful. They were similar in color to their elder brother, but the sea caught in Cascade's tones and Astrid loved that.

Now, Astrid's thoughts stray to her mate, now that her children are grown and she would bear no others.

Tore's Lore:

His mother, Astrid, was a child of Lightning. His father, Valerian, a child of Ice. They met upon a frozen ice floe and knew they were destined to be together. Astrid's blood called out to the seas and Valerian wouldn't deny his mate -- they fled the Icewarden's domain and ended up in her true home. But things weren't complete. She'd wanted a hatchling, someone to carry on her bloodline and legacy and she wished he could rise above her impurities.

Tore was born, a single hatchling out of their coupling. From the moment of his hatching, one that went quickly and fiercly, he'd devoted all of his time to being better, being stronger, being one of the best. He's a Viking General with a daughter of Starlight as his mate. He's produced 'impure' children but he has fierce love for his dark daughter, set apart from the blues and greens of the tides and wishes only to see her succeed. His son, unnamed as he is, has yet to earn his name and Tore is the hardest on him but does not shy away from challenging his Seph.

Tore gained sisters, three of them -- all equal in beauty but his favoured was the youngest -- Marella -- with her voice that could bewitch even the purest or darkest of hearts.

Captured by Tove's song, Tore released his guard enough to allow her to effect him. In this moment, his youngest twins were created, under the rays of both sun and moon.

Sol and Mani --the sun and the moon -- were hatched and Tore loved them fiercely, but in his mind the other children of Tove's would seek to use her against his children, so Tore took them into his nest, carefully tucked against his side to learn and watch and do as he did. He sent them off to study under Ase during the days but during the nights they were his and Mani became very proficient at night fighting and even seemed to glow when in the presence of his sister.
