In the sundered land between Blight Sanctum and the Foxfire Bramble, a haphazard collection of dragons have begun to make a home together. As a new and hastily formed clan, they are often disjointed and prone to disagreements. At the end of the day, however, they are loyal to one another and the unorthodox family they have created.

It started simply: on the border of the Abiding Boneyard and the Starwood Strand, a Mirror dragon and a Fae dragon fell in love.

As a young dragon, Triscuit injured her back legs, leaving unable to keep with the small pack she was travelling with through the Boneyard. Like many Mirrors, she had always hated to be alone, and hearing the soft chittering of nearby dragons, she followed the sound towards the Starwood Strand. As she reached the group of Fae, barely out of their hatchling age, most of them scattered in fright of the much larger dragon. But one stayed, curious about the way she limped along, and fluttered closer to land by her feet. He introduced himself as Ritz, offering to help her with her leg, and with no other options, she agreed.

The two often bicker over exactly how their first conversation went - Triscuit sees it as more transactional, while Ritz insists that he was practically threatened - but their stories always end the same way. They were both oddballs in their own groups, Triscuit too chatty, Ritz too adventurous, and so they fell in love and formed their own little pack. Together they wandered through the Starfall Isles while Triscuit healed, Ritz usually resting on Triscuit’s head or between her wings until they ended up among the Frigid Floes. There, they finally met the third of their odd trio, Saltine, a Gaoler dragon: large, imposing, and listless. Without an order, without much of a purpose in general, and the first Ancient dragon either Triscuit or Ritz had met, they quickly pulled him into their group.

He resisted at first, all three of them agree on that, simply agreeing to accompany them back to the Starfall Isles and then returning to his solitary home between the Arcanist’s and the Icewarden’s realms. As they walked, however, he quickly found himself growing fond of the frivolous young dragons. Their freedom was a relief from rigid Gaoler society, their amicable dispositions were warming, and as they reached solid ground, he realized that he didn’t want to go home. He wanted to stay with them, his own silly ruleless pack… and so he did.

Their small group had no intentions of settling down initially, content to keep wandering through Sornieth and seeing the far corners of every realm they could reach. However, once they learned that Triscuit was expecting, Saltine insisted that they settle down somewhere that would be easy to defend their new hatchlings. Trusting the judgement of, by far, the smartest dragon in their group, they settled among the Blight Sanctum, close to the first bristles of the Foxfire Bramble, and made their first rudimentary lair. Though they’ve moved a few times since then, carving out bigger and better places for the clan growing around them, Triscuit, Ritz, and Saltine have always stuck together as a loving trio, surrounded by the family they’ve made together.
